EVIL Ian Green was unmasked today as the mastermind of an international paedophile ring which used Facebook to link-up.

Green, 45, was at the centre of a vile web which involved child sex perverts in Britain, Australia, the United States and Canada.

Jobless Green oversaw an online swapshop of horrific videos and photos comprising more than 100,000 images of children being abused — even though he was a registered sex offender.

He created a multitude of false profiles, group accounts and email addresses to orchestrate the appalling exchanges.

When bosses at hugely popular social networking site Facebook closed down suspect sites, others would replace them WITHIN HOURS.

Shocking

Even hardened investigators were shocked by the appalling nature of the thousands of shocking images they discovered.

One detective commented: "Every child depicted in images such as these is a victim."

Green, who admitted his role, was jailed today for four years when he appeared at Chichester Crown Court in Sussex.

Britain's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre played a key role in the international Operation Ocean, which smashed the ring.

Two children who were being abused by perverts in the UK have now been rescued and safeguarded.

Five more British suspects have been identified and arrested and 11 others have been picked up worldwide.

The hunt to trackdown others is continuing after jobless Green admitted his role.

Jim Gamble, head of CEOP, said: "This network was made up of people who share an interest in viewing extremely disturbing images of children suffering horrific abuse."

Cops conducting a child-sex probe in Australia contacted colleagues in Britain after unearthing a UK internet tie to their inquiry.

Further investigation revealed connections to the United States and Canada and then South Africa, Germany and Switzerland — resulting in the involvement of local cops as well as the US FBI and the Canadian Mounties.

Undercover CEOP officers infiltrated Green's Facebook network and established he was enabling carefully vetted contacts to access the private groups he'd set up.

Initially sanction to enter up to three groups was given.

But once the pervs had demonstrated their "trustworthiness" by sharing their own images of child abuse, Green granted further access.

An investigation source said: "Each group contained more extreme images of child sex abuse.

"Green used a multitude of false Facebook profiles, group accounts and email addresses to download and distribute vile images which were shared on his homepage and in his mailbox."



He was arrested by Sussex police, who discovered that his presence on the Sex Offenders Register had not detered him.

Martin Harmer, from Sussex's Paedophile Online Investigation Team, said: "This was a particularly disturbing case - Green cleverly set up private Facebook accounts containing images of child abuse and then gave access to other paedophiles.

"Every child depicted in images such as these is a victim.

"We'll continue to work tirelessly with other organisations such as CEOP to ensure that we identify those who perpetuate these vile crimes, and ensure they get the justice they deserve."

Green admitted 25 internet child sex charges and breaching the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.

The evil bastard managed a 4 year sentence.... We can only applaud the legal system for its consummate interest in providing a safe environment for our children. Non payment of council tax or misuse of recycling bins draws a greater sentence.

Bring back the death penalty gets my vote!

The only way to control a pedophile is by a bit of lead! Jail isn't the answer as as soon as the crim is out he is at it again. They are cunning and often look very nice.

Paedophiles cant be cured, they dont want to be cured, they enjoy what they do....hanging is the only cure.

That is exactly why they should be behind bars for the rest of their lives.

Paedophilia never did and would never (if brought back) warrant a hanging punishment, unless a child died as a result. However, if committed by a male who is then convicted, castration might be the answer. For females, a drug enforced menopause might do the trick.

I want to know what Kate and Gerry think of this appalling situation, Where's Clarence with their perspective... and by the by contributions to the Fund never go amiss, what with the pedo networks out there.
