It most definitely is. What kind of religion cannot stand criticism? What kind of truly spiritual/religious people issue death threats, burn flags, torch cars and embassies and behead little girls just because they are Christian? I've read the Qur'An and it's full of hate: kill the infidels wherever you find them etc.

The Islamisation of Paris.
http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2010/August/Islamization-of-Paris-a-Warning-to-the-West/
PARIS - Friday in Paris. A hidden camera shows streets blocked by huge crowds of Muslim worshippers and enforced by a private security force.
This is all illegal in France: the public worship, the blocked streets, and the private security. But the police have been ordered not to intervene.
It shows that even though some in the French government want to get tough with Muslims and ban the burqa, other parts of the French government continue to give Islam a privileged status.
An ordinary French citizen who has been watching the Islamization of Paris decided that the world needed to see what was happening to his city. He used a hidden camera to start posting videos on YouTube. His life has been threatened and so he uses the alias of "Maxime Lepante. "
Lepante's View
His camera shows that Muslims "are blocking the streets with barriers. They are praying on the ground. And the inhabitants of this district cannot leave their homes, nor go into their homes during those prayers."
"The Muslims taking over those streets do not have any authorization. They do not go to the police headquarters, so it's completely illegal," he says.
The Muslims in the street have been granted unofficial rights that no Christian group is likely to get under France's Laicite', or secularism law.
"It says people have the right to share any belief they want, any religion," Lepante explained. "But they have to practice at home or in the mosque, synagogues, churches and so on."
Some say Muslims must pray in the street because they need a larger mosque. But Lepante has observed cars coming from other parts of Paris, and he believes it is a weekly display of growing Muslim power.
"They are coming there to show that they can take over some French streets to show that they can conquer a part of the French territory," he said.
France's Islamic Future?
If France faces an Islamic future, a Russian author has already written about it. The novel is called "The Mosque of Notre Dame, 2048," a bestseller in Russia, not in France.
French publisher Jean Robin said the French media ignored the book because it was politically incorrect.
"Islam is seen as the religion of the poor people, so you can't say to the poor people, 'You're wrong,' otherwise, you're a fascist," Robin explained.
The book lays out a dark future when France has become a Muslim nation, and the famous cathedral has been turned into a mosque.
Whether that plot is farfetched depends on whom you ask. Muslims are said to be no more than 10 percent of the French population, although no one knows for sure because French law prohibits population counts by religion.
But the Muslim birthrate is significantly higher than for the native French. Some Muslim men practice polygamy, with each extra wife having children and collecting a welfare check.
"The problem of Islam is more than a problem of numbers," said French philosopher Radu Stoenescu, an Islamic expert who debates Muslim leaders on French TV. "The problem is one of principles. It's an open question. Is Islam an ideology or just a creed?"
"It doesn't matter how many there are," he aded. "The problem is the people who follow Islam; they're somehow in a political party, which has a political agenda, which means basically implementing Sharia and building an Islamic state."
In Denial or Fed Up
From the 1980s until recently, criticizing or opposing Islam was considered a social taboo, and so the government and media effectively helped Islam spread throughout France.
"We were expecting Islam to adapt to France and it is France adapting to Islam," Robin said.
About the burqa controversy, one French Muslim man told a reporter that Europeans should respect Muslim dress. One Parisian woman wearing a headscarf said "the veil is in the Koran" and "we only submit to God and nobody else."
But even if many government elites are in France are in denial over Islam, the people in the streets increasingly are not. Some have become fed up with what they see as the growing Islamization of France.
They've started staging pork and wine "aperitifs," or cocktail parties in the street. They're patriotic demonstrations meant to strike back against Islam. Another national demonstration is planned for Saturday, Sept. 4.
A Warning to the West
The French parliament is expected to debate the burqa law in September. Jean-Francois Cope, president of the Union for a Popular Movement political party, has a warning for the West and for America.
"We cannot accept the development of such practice because it's not compatible with the life in a modern society, you see," he said. "And this question is not only a French question. You will all have to face this challenge. "

I saw a video a few months ago called "Sony Presentation", have tried to Google it without success, what"s
that I hear you say, "I"m not surprised"?
Seriously though, if you or anyone reading this can post the link here I would be grateful.
Anyway, it"s based on predictions. One is that because the Western World Family raises 2 to 3 children and
the Islamic World 4 to 6 , within the next 40 years the Whole World will be Islamic.
Another prediction is that whatever your children learn at school today will be obsolete by the time they leave because of Computer Technology. There are others which I can"t remember.
It really is an interesting Video and judging by the speed with which the Muslim religion is spreading around
the World, the prediction is probably right.

I watched a video a while back about Muslim demographics, which was quite alarming.
My daughter's partner is Head of History at a school, which in 1998 when he started there, had a Muslim pupil population of 40%. It is now over to 80%. White kids are isolated and beaten up and Muslim girls are being bullied for looking 'too Christian.' Lots of Muslim families have two children in the same school year, their birth dates being only 9/10 months apart. There is a notice in the staff room that says that whistle blowers will be suspended. There is a madrassa on the school campus.
Re: The religion of peace: behead Geert Wilders!
People have committed the most horrible things in the name of God.
The Catholic church is responsible for the killing of thousands of people and for the persecution of millions. The Crusades were real and one of the most horrible examples of what people do in the name of God.
I'm Catholic. Or at least I was raised to be.

And what were those Crusades about? They were about trying to take Jerusalem back from the Islamic invaders. Claudia, we do not make what Muslims are doing world-wide any less horrific by comparing with any other religion and what happened in the past. Most Muslims are not terrorists, but most of the terrorism in the world is being committed by Muslims.

You didn't get my point, Anna.
Muslims are seen as the cause of terrorism in the world. They are not, IMO. Religion is. It has been in the past, it is today and, if society doesn't evolve, will be in the future. Religion is the excuse used. And if there is a God, I'm pretty sure He/She is disgusted with what human beings have done in His/Her name. To me, crimes are not less serious because they were committed in the past. All of them are horrible crimes and have been committed in the name of God but religions are a creation of Humans, not God. The Bible was written by humans. God didn't say that homosexuality is a sin and that using a condom is going against His laws the same way Ala didn't say that an adulterous woman should be stoned to death. Human beings made those rules up to justify their violence and their frustrations. Those who follow those rules without thinking are the ones responsible for the consequences. We are the cause of these horrible acts the same way we are the cause of the destruction our planet. I'm pretty much convinced that if it weren't for humans, Earth would be the perfect place to live.

Thanks Claudia. Actually it was Mohammed who said that adulterous women should be stoned and he is held as the role model of the 'perfect man,' by Muslims.

Was it him who said it and is it said it was him? Because according to the Catholic Church using a condom is a sin because of Jesus' teachings and I doubt Jesus even knew what a condom was, assuming he existed. With AIDS killing millions of people especially in Africa, I find it a crime against Humanity to insist using it is a sin.
If there is a God and he created the world and all its inhabitants, he must think he did everything right except for our creation.

I read the reference a few days ago about Mohammed. It was a reference to a reputable Islamic scholar.
As for condoms, I think the Biblical text might be the one about someone spilling his seed on the ground, which is taken perhaps to mean not to practice contraception.
I really don't know a lot about the Catholic Church as I was raised Scottish Presbyterian (Calvinist)

I know. But Biblical texts are meant to be interpreted the way anyone wishes so. And, once again, it was written by humans.
I have someone close (not family but it's like family to me) who's a catholic priest!
ETA: I was was baptised and did my First Communion. After that, at the age of 8 or 9 I told my dad I was quitting. It was a bit like the McCanns. It didn't take me long to see the inconsistencies. But I like the Christian principles though. If everyone followed them, the world would be a nicer place.

Apparently , there is no Law which says a Woman must wear a burqa and in some Parts of the Middle East,
women can divorce their husbands, receive an education, go to work , not be forced to marry their Father"s
choice and generally have the same freedoms of a Western Woman.
It"s the zealots who give the Muslim religion a bad name and unfortunately they are the ones who cause the
chaos and deaths of so many innocents. Britain has been very slow to take action compared to other Countries
and it"s time to stop pandering to their "politically correct" policy. Before the radical Muslims started affecting
our way of life, Protestants, Catholics, Jehovah"s Witnesses, Baptists, Methodists, Seventh Day Adventists,
Judaism and other religions respected each others beliefs , so let"s go back to "Christmas", instead of "Winter
Wonderland" and all that nonsense.

As far as I have been able to find out, there is actually nothing in the Qur'An about wearing the burqa. All it says is that women should dress 'modestly.' It's the Wahabi form of Islam, that came out of Saudi Arabia, that is being taken up by the zealots.

Over the Centuries Religion has been responsible for many Wars and zealotry still exists in Northern Ireland.
However, the Muslim extremists are increasingly violent in their ptotests and should be deported if they can"t
be tolerant of other Religions. Europe is waking up to the dangers, when will Britain?

When the Muslim hordes trawled through Europe, they reached the Gates of Vienna and were driven back. There are some who believe we are now at the 'Gates of Vienna' and it's time to wake up.

I'm with you Anna! It is getting way beyond any kind of common sense. All schooldiners have to be Halal???? what is all ths about? Europe is (mostly) a Christian place, so why do we let ethnic minorities demand so much? I know this makes me sound like a Daily Mail reader, but it is true!
when will Britain Probably never at this rate.

I don't have any problems with people who wish to practice their faith, as long as that faith does not impinge on my rights or people ask for what amounts to very special treatment. Apart from applying to have open-air cremations, which was turned down, I don't recall Hindu people demanding special treatment or Buddhists for that matter, but Muslims want their Halal meat in schools, special toilets in prisons and prayer rooms in places of work.
I think there was a wake-up call for many people when that nutter, whose name I don't recall, was planning a march through Wootton Bassett.
We've had quite a few nutters preaching hatred. There is 'Hookie,' Abu Hamza, who is in Belmarsh, appealing extradition to the US and the European Court of Human Rights has agreed with him because he may have to face harsh punishment over there! Hamza's family are living right next door to John Hutton, which was probably handy when he was Pensions Secretary: pop next door to ask about benefits!
I think Wilders is the 'canary in the coal mine,' and we should listen to him.

A better video of the streets of Paris being totally blocked.
And here they are illegally taping off streets and stopping traffic. The police refuse to intervene.
http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/This is not your parents' France. The Muslims take over the Paris streets for Friday prayers. They block off roads, put their rugs out on the sidewalk as well as the street, deprive shop owners of business for two and a half hours, and deprive residents of the street from entering or leaving their apartments for that time.
And here they are illegally taping off streets and stopping traffic. The police refuse to intervene.

If there isn't a mosque big enough, why don't they just do their praying privately in their own homes? Do they really have to make such a show of their religion? And why the need to travel to those streets from other parts of Paris, where there probably are mosques for them to go to? I think they should be moved off the streets and certainly not allowed to have their private security blocking off the roads.
