thanks for the correction, annaAnnaEsse wrote:Badboy wrote:slightly off topic,it was said on itv/bbc? that a libdem mp is involved in scamming students
I read about that on the web site. Sorry, but I'm too tired to find it! This man was/is a lecturer at Coventry University, I think. He signed students up for extra tuition and got their credit card details. Then hundreds of pounds went from their accounts, instead of, say, the £60 they agreed to. One woman paid for some help for her daughter and found money being siphoned out of her account.
Actually he was a candidate, not an MP.

Doesn't make it a helluva lot better, though. He was chair or something of the local LibDems.

Assuming the claims are correct just think what he could have got up to if he had been elected.

A fourth politician faces the courts today over expenses. Jim Devine who is accused of submitting false invoices to claim about £8K appears at Southwark crown court. He has pleaded not guilty and is the first MP to face a trial.

There was a report that one MP had shopped 6 others. It was rumoured it was Illsley (but not confirmed) who is currently awaiting sentence after pleading guilty.
