A MAN who sexually assaulted and strangled a seven-year-old boy had written detailed sexual fantasies almost identical to the events which eventually took place, a court was told yesterday.

On the day that Sean Williams died, Colin Hatch, 21, had been waiting for a victim, the Old Bailey jury was told.

A 12-year-old boy was probably lucky to have escaped with his life after Hatch failed to entice him up to his flat where Sean was later killed, John Bevan QC, for the prosecution said.

Mr Bevan said that after Hatch's arrest 'dreadful writings' were found in a wardrobe in his mother's bedroom. They described in detail a fantasy where he tempted a 10- year-old girl to his bedroom, stripped, raped, strangled and finally dumped her body in two bin liners.

Hatch, unemployed, of East Finchley, north London, admits manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but denies murder on 19 July last year.

Sean, who lived nearby at The George public house which was run by his parents, was seen entering the block of flats where Hatch lived with his mother and older brother, Mr Bevan said.

Hatch told police that a boy had come to the flats looking for a friend. He said he would take the boy up to the friend's flat, but instead took him to his own flat where he sexually attacked him and strangled him. Sean's body was covered in bin liners and sticky tape and left in a lift.

Mr Bevan said Sean, a 'typical, lively young boy', had been out following the 'harmless pursuit of biking' when he was attacked and killed within a time span of 15 to 20 minutes. 'There was no time for conversation, no time for chat, no time for trying to seduce the boy.'

Hatch denied that he had intended to kill the boy, or that he derived any sexual pleasure from it, but it had happened because he panicked.

But Mr Bevan said: 'His writings include references to deliberately killing . . . In the fantasy story lack of consent is part of the story, that's part of the excitement. Killing and disposing of the body was part of the plan.'

The trial continues today.

Slightly off topic, I read of a person convicted of taking part in the srebrenica massacre being attacked by someone who attempted to kill two girls in reading,nothing like reading about one scumbag attacking/killing another scumbag,scum-on-scum violence

Not that Sean's parents will be lifted by this but at least they'll know the corrupted being that killed their little boy will be in hell where he belongs. My heart goes out to these people.

It's amazing that even the most hardened criminals, murderers, etc reserve a special loathing for people who harm a child.

At least he will not be able to re-offend.

He was only out 11 weeks before he did this.



By the way, he wasn't murdered....some con just made sure he couldn't violate another child when he was finally released.....he was 'put down' ....for his own sake, off course.

Child killer Colin Hatch died following an incident at a Full Sutton maximum security prison near YorkA drug-addicted robber has been arrested over the murder of child sex killer Colin Hatch at one of Britain's most secure jails, sources have said.

Damien Fowkes, 35, was held after Hatch was taken hostage and attacked by a fellow inmate at the maximum security Full Sutton prison near York on Tuesday night.

Hatch, 38, was told he must serve the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of killing a seven-year-old boy while on parole for a previous child sex attack.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder after Hatch was taken hostage and killed last night, sources told the Press Association.

Humberside Police said a 35-year-old inmate was arrested on suspicion of murder and was still being held at the prison. He will be transferred to a police station "at a later date".

Hatch had a string of convictions for assaulting young boys when he was jailed for the murder of seven-year-old Sean Williams in January 1994.

Jailing Hatch, Judge Nina Lowry said he was "highly dangerous".

Sentencing him at the Old Bailey, the judge said: "It is not possible today to envisage when you could be safely released from prison and as of today life imprisonment should mean what it says - namely imprisonment for life.

"In my judgment, you should never be released back into the community while there remains the slightest danger you will reoffend."

Good news , indeed. He should never have been released on parole. Now the little boy is dead.

If the country is reducing staff, it should be Parole Board Officers as they have the wrong idea altogether. They seem to think a prisoner can be released if he appears to have been converted into a non-threat person. They don't agree that x year sentences means x years.

A prisoner should not be released on parole to murder or rape innocent members of the public. We should be protected from criminals.

Personally I think the judge who let him have parole should be held accountable for the Childs death too.

We need a thorough overhaul of the system for paedophiles. They need their own town where they can all live together and do something worthwhile and productive for society. If anybody is caught looking at any vile images of a child, they should be locked up for life, with no chance of parole and no right to have a day out to attend funerals. There is no cure. There is no way of rehabilitating them. They cannot stop themselves from being sexually aroused at the sight of a child - even we brought back the death penalty. They know it's wrong, but they can't do anything about it.

We need to get them all banged up! And we need to lift the lid on the fact that there are thousands of women who are paedophiles too ....... and that a lot of women condone paedophilia by aiding, abetting and procuring.

A friend of mine who has worked with sex offenders says that the research shows that if the offender can be put through a therapeutic process while very young, no older than aged 20, there is hope of change, but older than that, the mindset is such that change is highly unlikely. That's research that should be available to those who make decisions, so why are paedos being let out?

When I was a teenager,my parents went mental when they found out I was having crafty cigs here and there. A fair few years ago, I was offered some ''findings'' about paedos ...... and without revealing too much, it turned out that the people involved in the ''research'' working with paedophiles ...... were shrinks with dubious agendas. So, I have been forever in dispute with people who believe we can change the minds of sexual preferences. Some people enjoy sex with the opposite sex, the same sex, or with both sexes ....... sometimes at the same time and in large groups. Even if we took a child of fourteen and told him or her not to violate children, they would only become more sly and devious about their preferences ...... and seek to pursue children. Even if they could only do this by looking at the pages of a children's clothing catalogue. They will fiind a way to satisfy their desires. So we need the f*ckers locking up with no chance of release. I still remember a dirty old bastard of 87 telling me that he still had ''lead in his pencil'' ....... so I still wouldn't release a paedo even if he was 108 with cancer and incontinent bowels, because there is still th echance that they are a menace to society.

I'm afraid the laws on paedophiles are becoming more and more relaxed..... when I was a child they used to put the name and address of a paedophile in the local paper. I knew of one in my neighbourhood that hung himself. Today they can join groups and support each other. It seems that all countries have those powerful ones, amongst whom are judges, politicians and doctors, and they seem to be untouchable.

It's a very scary world we inhabit.

Dya know what, pennylane ....... I was getting really worried about the age of consent being abolished altogether under Labour! I'm a bit of an old fuddy duddy sometimes in comparison to most people ........ and I seriously believe that children should leave school before they start having children of their own. I don't expect them to all have the ability to be decent citizens or read and write by the time they leave school, but I do wish they would leave sex alone until they know where they are going with their own lives and have the means to look after their own children. Even with grandparents financing education and taking over childcare for working parents, it's tough and expensive having children these days.

The trouble is, that the laws are made by people who take into account that they and their friends may get caught one day ...... So until we have a genuine meritocracy ...... we ain't never gonna get rid of those at the top of every profession that work together to allow these meagre sentences to be meted out.
