Libya: 'Air Strike Destroys Gaddafi Residence'

Niall Paterson, defence correspondent, and Natalie Fahy
An air strike has destroyed the building of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's residence, according to reports.
The news came as the White House said it did not recognise a ceasefire called by Colonel Gaddafi, and anti-aircraft fire continued in the skies above Tripoli.
The Libyan leader ordered armed forces to down weapons from 7.00pm, via a government spokesman at a press conference.
But witnesses reported strong blasts and gunfire in Tripoli throughout the evening, including an explosion in the area where leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's residence is situated.
A 10 Downing Street spokesman responded to the Libyan announcement, following a meeting of the National Security Council: "Everyone will recall that in recent days Colonel Gaddafi declared a ceasefire which was promptly violated.
"We said then we would judge him on his actions not his words - and we will do so again.
"His obligations are very clearly set out by the UN Security Council Resolution. Our assessment is that he is in breach of these obligations so we will continue to enforce the Resolution."

02:13 Almanara Media is confirming from trusted sources that Khamis Al Gaddafi has passed away on Sunday due to severe burn injuries he sustained a few days ago. The burns were caused when a fighter jet pilot performed a martyr mission and crashed his fighter jet into Gaddafi’s compound Baab Al Aziziyah. It's still not been verified by the Libyans, Kitti. It has been rumoured for a few days (after the kamikaze hit) that he had life threatening injuries. Yesterday it was 'reliably confirmed' by a single (un-named, but trusted) source that he was clinically brain dead. Let's hope! Information sharing is very difficult in Libya at the mo.

The Compound in Libya was bombed but one mission was aborted when it was discovered that Civilians were there. A young Libyan Dentist was
interviewed and says it is wrong to interfere in Libyan affairs, most Citizens want Gaddafi to remain as their Leader and it is only a small number of Rebels
who are being protected by the might of the UN.

Re: THE DOMINO EFFECT IN THE MIDDLE EAST
On the various News Channels there seems to be growing criticism of the Western Countries action against Libya, Chavez says it is illegal, Others say it
is because of the Oil that Libya has been targeted and what about the other Countries in revolt. Rebels are not making much progress and UN resolution
is to defend Citizens, not Rebels. It has become a propaganda War.
