I guess Beatrice is to be commended for using the ridicule she received to promote a charitable cause but you have to question the sanity of some of the bidders.

The questions are amusing:

Q: How many times has the hat been worn and does it have any marks on it?
A: The Hat has been worn once (for the Royal Wedding) and does not have any marks on it.

Q: What is the size of the hat and how much does it weigh?

Looking at this hat - if the designer had just reflected and instead of having it standing up vertically - if he had made it so that it curved back and around the sides of the head - more like an open helmet - it would have been quite something. Whereas IMO its not something at all.

I have always thought that things happen for a reason.

But I applaud her reasons for the auction.

It looks like the ridiculous bids were not genuine and the auction has restarted.

Shame.

The Hat was sold for £18,000.00.....don"t know who the Buyer was.
