I think he is a US PI, Joseph Moura. Wonder what he thinks now given the release of the files and the cadaver dog and CSI dogs alerts.

Yes that is Joe Moura. I don't know if he's a PI anymore. But I do note he says that abduction makes sense becaues they held to a schedule of leaving the kids - that anyone watching could see - that they were alone in an unlocked house with easy access and easy exit to the road and whoosh.

If MM were kidnapped it wasn't becaues she was alarmingly pretty or astoundingly bright it was because she was appalling vulnerable. And all this cr@p about her looks (and I agree with Dimsie, what I saw walking up the steps and on the bus video was a cute but quite ordinary little girl) or her charisma causing this feels like a sneaky way of doing the old defense trick of blame-the-victim.

The parents were responsible to keep her safe, it's not Madeleine's fault she isn't here today. It was nothing she did or did not do that caused her to be kidnapped. This is on her parents. if indeed that is what happened.

Badboy, my memory is not as it was but I have a feeling it was around the time of the BabyGrace case and someone had researched regarding ships leaving and plastic cases used by the pharmaceutical company. All very hazy I am afraid but it may trigger something from someone else.

Jon Corner is the owner of Online Media, PR and Marketing Company - River Media in Liverpool. He has acted as the family spokesman and accompanied the McCanns on their trip to Huelva, along with Michael Wright, John McCann and a cameraman. In the Panorama programme (November 19th) Jon said that they know the McCanns through his wife, Michelle, "who is Kate's longest friend. I mean they met each other back in primary school and stayed lifelong mates."

Do we know for certain that John McCann and Michael Wright went to Huelva, along with Jon Corner and the McCanns? I thought the McCanns and Jon Corner were only accompanied by a journalist and camerman

Someone saw them in heluava at the traffic lights and their were NO press following them like the mccanns have said they were with them all the time.


I think this person said their was Kate and Gerry McCann in the front off the car and a man sitting behind them and not sure off their was another women in the car.


I'm quite sure if Jon corner were in the car he would off stood out.

Yes thats it thanks Im sure I'v also seen a close up photo of the boxes of leaflets in the boot.

From what I remember of Jon Corner's mockumentary, there are some interesting bits in it and might be worth having another look at.

Esther McVey is a long-time friend of Kate McCann and was spokesperson for Madeleine's Fund from its launch in May 2007.

Esther and Kate first met in 1986, when they were both 18, at the North East Technical College in West Derby, where they were studying A-levels together.

She joined the board of Madeleine's Fund on 20 June 2007 and continued her role as spokesperson for the Fund until her resignation, announced in January 2008.

Ms McVey has remained-tight lipped as to the reason, or reasons, behind her resignation - a rather ironic position, considering her desire to become a Member of Parliament and given her former and current roles in the media/PR.

Her own website, on which she once displayed an online petition in support of the McCanns, now contains no mention of Madeleine McCann at all.

Mr Mitchell said a book deal was also being considered "at some point down the line". He confirmed reports that one of the directors of the fund, former GMTV presenter Esther McVey, had resigned from the board, but denied it was because of any rift with the McCanns.

He said she wanted to concentrate on her role as a Conservative parliamentary candidate and was also about to start studying for a demanding MBA qualification.

The first version of this article, which appeared on 08 January 2008, was very brief and simply said:

(The film project will be discussed at a meeting of the fund's directors, including Gerry, tomorrow night at the McCanns' home in Rothley, Leicestershire...)

The meeting tomorrow follows the resignation of key board members, including the fund's spokeswoman Esther McVey.

The second version, later that day of 08 January 2008, contained more information and a quote from Clarence Mitchell. This was later removed and rewritten into the article that now appears online, as above. But why were this section and Mr Mitchell's quote removed?:

Clarence Mitchell later confirmed the reports that Esther McVey had resigned from the board but denied it was because of any rift with the McCanns. He said she wanted to concentrate on her role as a Conservative parliamentary candidate and was also about to start studying for a demanding MBA qualification.

"She has a lot of commitments and realised she could not devote the time she wanted to the fund," he said. "She felt the New Year would be a good time for the change, and spoke to Kate about her decision. Kate and Gerry were disappointed but they both understood her reasons. She is an old friend of Kate's and continues to support the fund."

Mr Mitchell said other directors might also want to "rotate" their position on the board, as it had created a lot more work than was originally anticipated in May.
