The video footage broadcast on television was shot by security cameras at the base where two Spanish Civil Guard were killed
Two men from the Spanish military, brothers who are based at barracks in Zaragoza and Murcia, have been arrested for releasing images of an attack in Afghanistan in August last year when two members of the Spanish Civil Guard were killed.
The Guardia Civil Captain and Lieutenant were at the former Spanish base in Qala-e-Naw, Badghis province, training a class of Afghan police when they and their interpreter were shot dead by a Taliban infiltrator who was working as a police chauffeur.
The images released to Antena 3 Television and broadcast last year were shot by security cameras at the base, and show the moments after the shooting as the killer escapes outside the base, is shot dead, and then his body is dragged back in. There is also footage of disturbances around the base after the attack.
The two now in custody are an Army sergeant and an Air Force corporal who now face charges of disclosing confidential information or national security information. They were identified in an investigation which began last November
