Jane Tanners phone potentially hacked

Why only Jane? Something odd here. Could this be what brings them all down?

from what ive read there is a list of some sort, not sure if its a list of actual or possible hacking. Why would they be asking clarence mitchell about the list, surely theyd be asking those who were hacked. Why would someone in Robert Murdoch's camo, stringent McC supporter, want to hack into Jane's phone.

I wouldn't be one bit surprised to hear that the phones of some of, if not all of the T9 were tapped. This phone tapping has been going for years and it surely must have happened in the case of the most publicised missing child of this century. We can only hope that the closing of the NOTW and its premises being declared a crime scence will unearth something that will re-open the case of missing Madeleine. We always said that it will be something left of field that will open the can of worms. Maybe this is it and that this is the beginning of justice for Madeleine Beth McCann. Fingers & everything else crossed.

What on earth would be the point in hacking into JT's phone to listen to a whole flock of; ums, erms. like and y'know?

I am hoping the thought that they may have been hacked could tip the balance and have one of the Tapas trotting off to SY to spill the beans ..

You're right Ollybelle, it may only take something as simple as that to bring out the truth, but whether we ever find out could be another matter.....

This may have been asked already but I'm curious about something. How do they get a hold of these numbers they've hacked?

I think someone gave them new phones but i dont know if it was journos that did it.

It would be great if their phones were hacked and we get to hear what was said/texted etc.... Thats what i would like anyway. :-)

Didn't the mccanns get diff phones as Payne said their batteries were flat and SA knew someone in Portugal that could get them phones.....why didn't they take their charges with them?

It was a relative of Paynes who supplied them all with phones, IIRC.

SA is f paynes sisters husband.......coincidence he knew someone that could get them phones

You're right, all they've done so far is listened to voicemail messages that were waiting on the phones. And in the case of Milly Dowler, deleted some voicemail messages.

In that case it may not be so damning.

I believe old analogue mobiles could be "eavesdropped" with a straightforward scanner but all the allegations seem to relate to interception of voicemail (unless one goes back in history to Squidgygate).
