Re: Murdoch
Yes. This is good, but only the begining, I hope, of the crumbling of the Murdoch empire.

Wouldn't work. After closing down the NoTW but registering domains for TheSunOnSunday people are wise to him and his ways.
ETA: Sky are saying they've dropped it because 'The media group feels the situation has become "too politicised" for it to continue with its takeover offer, a senior source told Kleinman.'
'Too politicised'..... They are trying to claim victim status now, they need a reality check if they think the public aren't outraged .

Re: Murdoch
Trying to save his scrawny neck, just like his stock buy back -before the SEC or shareholders create such a fuss it's he wants to limit damage on this. He needs to throw the hates Mrs Brooks under the bus as well, his own SON has been "tarnished" as an exec by admitting they knew it was more than one reporter doing this.
I found it quite arrogant that the minister of whatever group is deciding if this can go ahead or not said the vote being taken with both Cameron as opposition supporting Labour in their bid to prevent this, wouldn't be taken into account. So in other words nothing that the people want nor the government agrees on is a bad idea will make a dent in his decision? He needs to be on the same bus out of town with Rebekah Brooks.
I would be so furious if I were a journalist doing my job and I got the sack and my BOSS who presided over all this disgusting disgraceful behavior and then lied about it, kept her job because it's this "family" thing he has going.
Nepotism is one of the issues in this litigation the pension fund is considering, as part of the governance problem they have there.

Re: Murdoch
How does it feel everyone that the richest man on the planet has been brought to his knees?
Makes me feel more confident that justice with prevail in other areas.
I would like to see Murdoch go on tv and apologise for everything he has done and all the people he has hurt.
Murdochs son sill have to answer for trying to pay people off for their silence.

Re: Murdoch
This story has got legs, I think.
By the way, just how much of a tw@t is James Murdoch?
He really does look like he hasn't got two brain cells to rub together.
The bloody f-ing cheek of this family. The only time I remember James Murdoch on an interview, it was to tell teh British public that the BBC had too much power and shoudl be regulated and become smaller.
The one and only time I can remember Rupert Murdoch speaking in an interview, it ws to tell us that Channel 4 (who provide excellent news imo) was a loose cannon.

She and Murdoch are very similar, cold, dull, heartless, perhaps she is his clone, or muse.

Aye, but Murdoch is getting on a bit, and his eyesight it not as it should be, so to him she probably looks desirable cough, cough. Personally I think a wooden wall looks more desirable, and you would have far more intelligence and stimulating conversation from the wall, than from her.

Re: Murdoch
I think we should remember that Murdoch did not get where he is without being canny and ruthless. He had offered £9.75 for the remaining bskyb shares
which fell to £7 50 in 4 days. By withdrawing his bid with the proviso that "he will bid again at a later date" he has manged to save £2 a share overpaid
and appease the British Government. He can bid again in 6 months.
Since all this began , the Parent Company Newscorp has lost 12% in value and his Family own 40% of Newscorp.
If we didn"t know better we would think that the display of outrage in Parliament yesterday was genuine, pathetic isn"t it that public disgust and
anger forced the Government to act, not bright shiny principles.

He hasn't got the guts to say what he has to say in the UK, he has to go to the USA and print it in one off his own newspapers.
