New Sighting of Madeleine in India

Here we go again. Just when you thought it was a Sighting Free Zone.
Leh, July 23
High drama prevailed in the busy Fort Road market of the city last night when three persons identified a six-year-old girl as Madeleine McCann, a British girl who went missing while on a holiday in Portugal in 2007.
The infamous case had hogged limelight when Madeleine disappeared in May 2007 while she was holidaying with her parents and siblings in the Algarve region of Portugal. The minor girl went missing from an apartment a few days before her fourth birthday and has still not been found. According to the Wikipedia and various web portals, Madeline’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann had stated that they had left the children unsupervised in the ground floor bedroom while they were at a restaurant about 120 metres away.
Last night, a British woman saw a French woman with her Belgian husband roaming in the market with a girl who looked like Madeleine. She immediately informed the British police and the Leh police. The local police has taken the passports of the suspects for verification.
The missing girl’s parents have set up a website where they have put up her pictures that were taken in 2007 and also pictures of how she would look like as she would grow up.
As the British woman shared her suspicions with few others and took a picture of the girl, an American youth -- who was also following the couple -- tried to take away the girl from them. He later told the police that he suspected the girl to be Madeleine. Another American woman also shared the suspicion.
The French woman, however, rubbished their claims, saying that she and her husband were the biological parents of the girl.
A local police official said there was worldwide alert for Madeleine and it would be a great honour for the Leh police to find the missing girl. “However, it all depends upon the evidence like DNA for which help from Madeleine’s parents and the British police was required.”

Not the sharpest knife in the cutlery draw is he, I wonder how long a prison sentence he would get, and in an Indian prison ouch not a nice thought.

If I know that, and you know that, and we probably both think she isnt going to be found wandering about, then why on earth do 'Madeleines Army' out there searching for her not know how old she would be?
And are they meant to be looking for a child with a coloboma or without one?

Does that mean they're hoping to DNA test the child?

Does anyone have any idea what MMC looks like, all the photos the McCanns have released are as much use as a chocolate teapot.
We have tennis ball girl
Last photo girl
Photo with fleck in the eye girl
Everton football shirt girls
Ireland 2007 girl
etc etc
maybe SY plods should use some face recognition software on them, my feeling is either only one or non of these photos are MMC.

After so many years, as a parent you don't even recognize your own child I think, so for strangers I think it's impossible IMO.

Re: New Sighting of Madeleine in India
Indeed it is. There was someone on their fb page who didn't even know who Eddie and Keela were, plus they seem (well, some of them anyway) to believe the rubbish Kate trotted out in her book about dogs being unable to alert to cadaverine after 30 days - something that must be a bit of a shock to those involved in the countless cases where cadaver dogs have found the scent months, years or even decades after a death. Ignorance appears to be bliss among the McFans.pennylane wrote:

As for this Indian 'sighting', I find this really sickening -
'As the British woman shared her suspicions with few others and took a picture of the girl, an American youth -- who was also following the couple -- tried to take away the girl from them.'
This, if true, is just terrible. What gives anyone the right to stalk and take photos of a child they don't even know? And even worse, try to snatch a child from her family? I hope this little girls' parents insist on the American youth being charged with attempted abduction of their child, as it will take something like that to put a stop to this idea that it's acceptable to try to grab a child just because she has some superficial resemblance to one who has disappeared.

Dimsie, they have been saying just that for weeks on their facebook page. Telling people that if they think its Madeleine, to grab the litle girl and phone the police, then saying that whoever the little girls parents are won't mind if its to help find Madeleine. Its just a matter of time before one of them gets a right hook from an irate parent.

A right hook, well they would get a bit more than that from me. So are they enticing people to abduct children now, surely that is a criminal offence, especially if someone does it.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2008/08/19/britons-try-to-snatch-madeleine-mccann-lookalike-115875-20703587/
Two British tourists tried to take a small fair-haired child from a beach, thinking it was Madeleine McCann, it emerged yesterday.
They spotted the youngster being led along the sand by a woman on the holiday island of Krk, Croatia.
Convinced it was the girl who disappeared in Portugal last year, they kept a careful eye on the pair and even took some secret photos.
When the woman's back was turned, they grabbed the child's arm only to find it was not Madeleine but the son of a Croatian footballer.
Leone Drpic is two-and-ahalf and has long blond hair like Madeleine, but there the similarity ends. His dad Dino, 27, plays for Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia and his mum Nives is a glamour model.
Nives said yesterday: "I started getting suspicious when the British woman approached Leone and started chatting with him.
"Suddenly she grabbed him by the arm, apparently thinking nobody was watching him.
"However, when I went over she realised her mistake and apologised."
The search for Maddy, who vanished from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal on May 3, 2007 has sparked hundreds of false sightings worldwide.
Tourists have reported seeing her in scores of countries from Brazil to Austria.

Re: New Sighting of Madeleine in India
So now we have yet another family whose lives will be turned into a nightmare, another child most likely traumatised and given nightmares for years to come. Innocent people who have the suffered humiliations because of the Mccanns really should be suing the backsides off the Mccanns, the Mccanns themselves sue people for less.

Too true, they do. This has made me so angry......

Well Madeleine's dna seems in short supply for a start, and here we have innocent people having to explain themselves to these fanatical Madeleine's Army footsoldiers. You'd have thought the fact that a 6 year old (Maddie would now be eight) speaking French I presume would have been enough to satisfy anyone. So she's regressed 2 years in age but picked up a foreign language. nutters they are.

Here in all its glory.....The mindset of Madeleine's Army
Take from their facebook page
Just hoping that the girl in Leh turns out to be Madeleine, it just goes to show that Madeleine still remains in the heart and minds of many people and we will never stop looking for her. At least these people didn't just walk away then called the police they actually stopped and held her until the police arrived. I would rather be proved wrong and apologise than miss the oppotunity to bring her home.

Now that truly is incredible, actually encouraging people to grab hold of a child and detain her, then thinking all they have to do when found to be wrong is apologise. Maybe the police need to be alerted to the fb page and the encouragement by some of the posters there to committing illegal acts against children. If the McCanns can't or won't monitor their own page and remove such posts, then perhaps the authorities need to take over.
Another instance of the mind-set that prevails there (or was it on Amazon?) was when someone actually proposed getting their boyfriend to do some 'legal hacking' if it would help. It's incredible that anyone would propose such a thing, but a total disregard for the law doesn't seem to faze some of the faithful.

Re: New Sighting of Madeleine in India
One of their latest "suggestions" - and I am not making this up - is that they put Madeleine's picture on condom wrappers. I think somebody left the doors of the looney bin unlocked and they've all got out.
