Is the pursuit of money and/or greed actually costing the public money?
I am unsure what to say here, but is wondering the above.
Consider for the sake of argument that someone steals, this costs public money to investigate.
You have fraud etc that cost perhaps 100s of millions to investigate.
sorry if i can't put this in an articulate manner.

Your title made me think of all the huge companies that don't pay a penny in UK tax because they channel all their income into off-shore accounts.

Some one was arguing today on the radio that the greedy bankers and the city money traders are every bit as bad as the rioters as far as the cost is concerned to the public.
The rioters cost us money in public clear up costs, policing and increased insurance premiums.
The stock market traders are there to get rich on our money,ie any one who has savings or a pension plan or a ISA has money in shares. The traders create the 'mood' to force shares up or down and buy and sell to make their profits,no care for 'our' money.
MP's have illustrated better than anyone could the definition of greed, and that has cost us all on our taxes.

This gives credence to the old saying...the rich get richer and the poor...well, who gives a damn?

IT WAS THE PURSUIT OF TRYING TO MAKE MONEY THAT LED TO THE SUB-PRIME MORTAGE PROBLEMS.Lioned wrote:Some one was arguing today on the radio that the greedy bankers and the city money traders are every bit as bad as the rioters as far as the cost is concerned to the public.

Prime Ministers and Presidents don"t Govern, Banks do and they are so bl***y arrogant with customers money that they threaten to leave the Country
if Government tries to impose more open reporting. RBS and Northern Rock were bailed out to the tune of £billions and the Taxpayer has a right to know how their money is being spent.
Now we have a very serious possible double dip recession the Banks are shedding thousands of Staff to add to the unemployment figure and more tax
payer money paid out in unemployment benefits, ironic isn"t it.!!!!

The reason the Banks came into being Badboy was to keep safe Depositors money and they used that to lend money.

He could borrow from a Bank if he has an asset , if not , the likes of Wonga.com would charge an awful lot of interest. Why don't you charge your Brother
interest ?
