Gardai from Whitehall Garda Station are renewing their appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Bernie Gavan, 59 years of Ballymun, who has been missing since August 9th last.


Bernie Gavan was last seen in the Phibsboro area of Dublin. She is described as 5" tall with blonde hair and she wears glasses. When last seen she was wearing a pink jacket, shoes and top with black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardai at Whitehall on 01-666 4500 or any Garda Station. Alternatively, the Garda Confidential number is 1800 666 111.

The skeletal remains discovered in a Dublin park last Wednesday have been identified as those of missing woman Bernie Gavan.

The 59-year-old went missing in August 2007.

Children retrieving a football from underneath an electricity pylon at Tolka Valley Park in Finglas found the remains.

Gardaí say the circumstances surrounding her death are tragic and no foul play is suspected.

Her remains have now been released to her family for funeral and burial.

Rest in peace Bernie. May you be at peace now.
