A very strange cae here in Croatia. 17-y - Antonia (Drnis, above Split) autostopped truck and vanished this summer.
Croatian and Bosnian police traced and catched truck driver, he claimed murder and dump the body in Krka River area (hundreds of mini-lakes)

The search squad (300 members) dryed ALL lakes and water, found nothing. Later is found that that truck driver phoned some foreign phone numbers during day Antonia disssapeared.

Antonia is missing 3 months . The main suspect is human traffficking. One of the main human trafficking ways is through Croatia. (Asia-->Ukraine or Turkey-->>Balkans-->>Croatia->> Slovenia or sea-->>EU)

Is the truck driver arrested or was he released because police can't find a body, so they can't prove homicide?

Good question. In fact, that's all very complicated. His is convicted for rape and murder in Serbia for a crime happend a few years ago, so it seems his "confession" regarding Antonia is made to make time and space not to be extradicted to Serbia. His is made statement from which bridge he trowed Antonia's corpse, but 300 divers and searchers didn't found anything after dryed vaste water area. He is now in Croatian prison, he's avoiding psychiatric evaluation and lie detector. It's all very frustrating.

Well, if all those elements are correct, than he did exactly what the killers of the little girl Joana did (a Portuguese case). He also took police everywhere saying the body was left there, but then it wasn't there, it was somewhere else, in a non-stopping play cat/mice with the Police.

It's very strange he prefers to be tried in Croatia by murder after a sex assault (a bigger crime), than just being tried in Serbia for sex assault! In that case, we can conclude the body is everywhere except where he says it was, and he is hoping the charges are dropped because no body will ever be found. Probably there's a statute of limitations in Serbia for his crimes and he's waiting for that. The crimes in Serbia expire and then in Croatia he will be released. Clever move on his part and poor girl who was killed.

Yes, the investigators said he's cold and intelligent.....

The trafficking is also taken into consideration....
