Chelsea Owner Abramovich Sued Over Shares

Rachel Younger, Sky News correspondent
The owner of Chelsea Football Club Roman Abramovich has been accused of
intimidation and blackmail at a high court case involving damages of more than
£3.5bn.
Mr Abramovich is likely to face cross-examination over
relationship with the Kremlin
Fellow Russian billionaire Boris Berezovsky claims Mr Abramovich, who he describes as his
former friend and business partner, forced him to sell shares in two different
companies for massively less than they were worth.
Mr Berezovsky's QC Laurence Rabinovitz told the court the two men had worked
together to acquire Sibneft, a Russian oil company "that would make them rich
beyond the wildest dreams of most people".
But the court heard the pair, who avoided each others' eyes in court, had
stopped speaking 11 years ago after Mr Berezovsky fell out with Russia's
then-President Vladimir Putin and was forced to seek exile in
London.
Mr Berezovsky claims Mr Abramovich forced him to sell
shares in two firms
At that point, said Mr Rabinovitz, "Mr Abramovich demonstrated he was a man
to whom wealth and influence mattered more than friendship and loyalty".
Mr Berezovsky claims he was seriously shortchanged for his Sibneft oil stocks
and that he also lost millions on his shares in Rusal, a Russian aluminium
company, after Mr Abramovich allegedly sold shares he held in trust for him
without mentioning it first.
Mr Berezovsky wants the difference in the price of the shares and damages for
intimidation. But Mr Abramovich says the allegations are "tendentious" and
simply an attempt to cover up Mr Berezovsky's own failings.
The Chelsea FC owner faces cross-examination about his business dealings and
relations with the Kremlin when he is called as a witness later in the
case.

Re: Chelsea Owner Abramovich sued over shares
These b****y oligarks buy our Football clubs, not as an investment, or even because of a love for the game, but to get their money out of Russia.

I recon there's one very 'woosie' oligarch calling bramobitch a bully,
Think it a bit unlikely that a Russian who levitates to that position would let himself get bullied even at the end of a kalashnikov ! Or have they all gone soft since the end of the cold war.

No Lioned, they are not soft, they have been buying up Spain, Cyprus that I know of. A Friend of mine living in Northern Cyprus was selling her House a few months ago, new, lovely house. Anyway, she decided to move to the mountain area and put he house on the Market. A Russian Lady came to see it,
immediately said she would have it for her Son with most of the Furniture and a Car my Friend"s Friend was selling. Paid her in CASH, over £100,000,
my Friend had to take her Friends Husband to the Bank in case she got mugged.!!!!
Have a look in U.K. News " Is it Armageddon, good news for you footie fans, bad for bskyb.
