Re: Brandon Wade
Paula (McGrath) Wade and her 3-year-old son were reported missing on October 13, 2002. Paula , 26, who was employed by Sam's Club, Valdosta, Georgia, didn't show up for work at 7 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2002. Lateasa Hicks, marketing team leader at the store, said that when Paula didn't call work to notify them she wouldn't be in, people with whom she worked became concerned about her whereabouts. Hicks became concerned and sent someone to Wade's residence at Common Apartments twice that morning to find her. Wade's vehicle, a 1998 Chevy Blazer was still there, but there was no sign of Wade or her son, Brandon. Police officers responded to the apartment and contacted the landlord. No trace of Wade or her son was found. Marcus Burroughs, 19, was a roommate of Paula's but has not given the police any pertinent information regarding her disappearance. He refused a polygraph test and invoked his right to legal counsel. Cedric Bell, an acquaintance of Marcus', was brought in for initial questioning and told officials where the bodies could be found. Only deer bones were found in that area. The family believes he should be brought in for further questioning. Paula's husband, staff sergeant Lance Wade, stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, South Carolina, has been cleared of any involvement through questioning and a polygraph test.
Wade's family said they know of no one who would try to harm their daughter or grandson and that it was very odd that they had not heard from her. "Even one week (without contact) is totally out of character" said her father, Regis McGrath. "We'd speak every Sunday night at 6:30 unless we arranged something ahead of time. Paula's vehicle was left in the parking lot of her Commons Apartment but the child safety seat had been removed. Police have concentrated their search on the apartment complex, posting fliers, interviewing residents and searching nearby woods for signs of foul play, but no leads were uncovered. Paula received an approved transfer through Sam's for a new job in Kissimmee, FL, in October. Her father was supposed to help her move the next week, but she disappeared. Missing work without notice was also very unusual. Paula had worked with the company for five years. "Work and the baby, that was her life" ,said her father.
Paula Wade is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She has brown/auburn hair and brown eyes. Brandon, 3, is 33-inches tall, 32 pounds, with hazel-blue eyes and brown hair.No other information is available at this time. Anyone who has information about the location of Paula and Brandon Wade are asked to call the police department's Crime Tip Line at (229) 293-3091 - where callers have the option to remain anonymous - or the Investigations Department at (229) 293-3145.

Re: Brandon Wade
Family Copes With Missing Relatives
VALDOSTA — Thanksgiving is a time for sharing and feasting with friends and families.
For one Florida family, it’s also a time for raising awareness and hope for their missing loved ones.
Regis and Mary McGrath have been waiting eight years, holding on to faith, to hear the wonderful news, “We found them, and they are coming home.”
Paula McGrath Wade was 25 years old the last time she was seen by her co-workers at Sam’s Club in Valdosta on Oct. 12, 2002.
On Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, when she uncharacteristically didn’t report to work, a co-worker attempted to look for her at the Commons Apartments where she resided with her then-3-year-old son, Brandon Wade. Neither mother nor child could be found.
Although Paula and Brandon have been missing since 2002, authorities have not given up the search for the Wades.
Several investigators and law-enforcement agencies have worked leads in this matter and continue developing new strategies in hopes of solving the case.
“We believe that there are persons out there who have information about Paula and Brandon’s disappearance,” Valdosta Police Capt. Bobbi McGraw said. “We urge them to contact the Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigations. If they do not feel comfortable identifying themselves, they can remain anonymous by contacting the VPD Crime Tip Line at (229) 293-3091.”
Since the last story ran in The Times (Oct. 9, 2010), McGraw said the department has received a number of tips on the Wades, but they still have not been located. McGraw said every lead is taken seriously and is followed.
The McGraths come to Valdosta every year from Kissimmee, Fla., to meet with the Valdosta Police Department and post fliers around the city. They wanted to take this Thanksgiving season to thank McGraw and the team of investigators for the hard work and dedication to the case.
“They have been very helpful,” Regis McGrath said. “It’s been a plus for us to work closely with Capt. McGraw.”
McGrath added he and his family know everything that can be done in this case is being done. They “never feel as though the department is giving up on Paula and Brandon.”
Memories of their loved ones never escape their minds, but the McGraths reflect on Paula and Brandon with joy and sadness during the holiday season. A place is still being held for both Paula and Brandon in the McGrath home. One of Paula’s favorite times of the year was being with her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Paula was born in Athens, Greece. After leaving Greece, the family moved to Germany then to Valdosta. She married her high school sweetheart and they had Brandon. Paula and her husband were separated at the time of her disappearance. He currently lives out of state and has remarried.
Paula Wade’s roommate at the time of her disappearance did not give police any pertinent information regarding her disappearance, according to www.paulawade.com. He refused a polygraph test and invoked his right to legal counsel.
Paula Wade had plans to relocate to Kissimmee, Fla., after she was approved for a transfer through Sam’s Club for a new job, according to the website. Her father was supposed to help her move the next week.
Paula Wade has been described as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and having brown/auburn hair and brown eyes. At the age of 3, Brandon Wade stood 33 inches tall, weighed 32 pounds and had hazel-blue eyes and brown hair.
Age progression photos, provided by the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, can be seen of Brandon Wade at www.paulawade.com.
“Brandon was always Paula’s pride and joy,” Mary McGrath said. “We came up to get Brandon a few times and to take him back to Florida with us. He really enjoyed his time at Disney World. Woody (from the ‘Toy Story’ movies) was his favorite character (at that time).”
Mary added that Paula was a very “hug-able person like her father and was very dependable.” She hopes that wherever Paula and Brandon are, they’re together.
“We are and always have been a very close family,” she added.
The McGrath family consists of son Regis, his wife, Elaine, and children Alex, 11, and Emily, 9, who reside in Indianapolis. They also have a daughter, Mary Francis, who lives in Las Vegas, with her children, 20-year-old Tara and 17-year-old Jason.
Regis and Mary McGrath said they plan to host Thanksgiving at their home with Mary’s brother, sister and brother-in-law. Their children, Regis and Mary Francis, will not be able to attend this year.
“Our children and grandchildren won’t be here, but we will talk to them by phone as we did so many times with Paula,” Regis said. “We still hold on to faith. We will never close the book as long as we are alive.”
“The Lord will answer our prayers one day,” Mary added.
The Valdosta Police Department teamed with members of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations. Numerous agencies, which include the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Polly Klass Foundation, and National Center for Missing Adults, have also assisted in the investigation. The McGraths said they are so appreciative to all these organizations, to their church family, their many supportive friends and Kathi McGrath for designing Paula and Brandon’s website. They also wanted to thank The Valdosta Daily Times for the coverage of their daughter and grandson.
McGraw said they revisit the case frequently in hopes of bringing the search for the Wades to a close. They do have people of interest whom they are investigating. No other information about the case will be disclosed at this time.
McGraw also wishes to express her gratitude to the McGraths for their willing to assist law enforcement.
“We (law enforcement) have a good relationship with them,” she said. “They are very patient and kind every time we speak. We are determined to find answers in this case, not only for the people in the area that knew the Wades, but for their family.”

"It's been eight years since we last seen them or heard from them and you just express that love," said Mary McGrath, Wade's mother, who drove from Orlando with her husband, Regis, to plead for help in locating their missing daughter and grandson.
In October 2002, three-year-old Brandon Wade and his mom, Paula Wade, 25, disappeared.
They were last seen on October 12.
"We're looking at a little better than 2,900 days of a nightmare," said Regis McGrath, Wade's father. "It just never ends."
Wade was reported missing after she didn't show up for her morning shift at Sam's Club on October 13.
A co-worker searched her home at Common Apartments, No. B-6, but found no sign of Paula or Brandon.
Just her abandoned '98 Chevrolet Blazer with Brandon's car seat removed.
Neighbors say they're shocked because this complex is quiet and close-knit.
"It shouldn't have happened because everybody here's very close," said James Fugghett, who lives on the ground floor. " Everybody pretty much knows one another."
"[Now I have] really bad feelings about like what can happen around," said Ironesa Martinez, whose babysitter lives in the complex. "You never know with a little baby."
Valdosta Police are determined to crack this case.
They're encouraging everyone to look closely at the pictures of Brandon Wage at the time of his disappearance, and the age-progressed photo of him at age 11.
"If there's anyone out there that would just know anything, look at the poster and study it for just a minute," said McGrath. "Maybe you seen them. Maybe you heard somethin'."
VPD and Paula Wade's family are offering a reward to anyone with information.
Call the Anonymous Crime Tip Line at (229) 293-3091.
