Chinese big spenders in uk stores

Selfridges in manchester is reporting that chinese students and visitors are spending an average of £1000 a spend compared to an average £70 per local visitors.
Chinese visitors are spending money here because it is cheaper than similiar items back in china.
the store is training people to speak mandarin to help chinese visitors.
those with chinese speaking staff could increase their number of visitors.

I thought most 'Students' lived on lentils !

Seeing as China produces a great deal of our electronic goods and what with the cost of transporting and all i find this quite hard to believe actually.

Offcourse in China the 'management' dont like people to have such things so an Apple Iphone for instance might cost loads in China and about £450 squid here but still beyond the Chinease students pocket i would have thought ?

I agree with the fact that the chinese are spending lots. We have a designer village out let near by and it is absolutely packed with them. Shops have even taken to stocking very small sizes because of it.

THEY ARE ALSO JAPANESE AS WELL AS MIDDLE EASTERN VISITORS SPENDING LOTS OF MONEY,THEY ARE NOT HIT BY RECESSION.
