Villas by the sea being searched
There was a report(portugal news?)that a (luxury?)villa by the sea had some suspicious activities, photos of children were found etc.
There exactly was this.
Owner said to have been angry at suggestion of something going on.

Re: Villas by the sea being searched
Is this a recent report, or historical?
At least somebody has done some searching for Madeleine.

Re: Villas by the sea being searched
Wasn't there a question mark over a particular villa in Praia da Luz? I'm sure there was a photo of Gonçalo Amaral outside one.

Madeleine McCann may have been taken to a luxury villa just half-a-mile from where she was abducted, Portuguese detectives were told. Suspicions were raised by the behaviour of the people who rented the £1million house and because video cameras were reportedly seen there along with pictures of children on a wall, the Sunday Express has learned.

The search dog handler said the villa had a room with a kind of amateur studio with video equipment and cameras with toys and pictures of children on the wall. "He felt it was something to do with paedophiles. He told the police and they seemed to know something about it, but we don't think they took it any further." He confirmed the villa fits the description and location of the one he was told about.
The Sunday Express has been conducting intensive inquiries in the resort town and asked scores of people if they saw anyone acting suspiciously. One British resident told us both she and a friend, a retired British woman detective, went to Portuguese police about a couple who rented the villa. The resident told us: "I used to meet up with the retired detective to walk our dogs down by the seafront. Both of us became concerned about a couple aged about 30 who rented the villa.
"What struck us was that they drove a very tatty, British-registered small red saloon car. It was one those vehicles you would normally see on a gypsy camp, not going in and out of a very expensive villa.
"We only saw them coming and going in the car and not walking about, which is odd given the location of the villa. We both got the impression they were trying to keep a low profile.''
Another source said that after Maddie disappeared, search teams combed the seafront, where luxury villas stand next to large areas of barren land. Anglican priest Paul Luckman, owner and publisher of Portugal News, said: "The location and description of that villa mentioned by your source fits the one that a searcher told me about. The searcher said the villa was empty and that they got inside."

Thanks, almostgothic. I didn't notice!
Re: Villas by the sea being searched
I think I was editing while you were posting!
I was trying to keep all the bits about the villa in, whilst leaving all the bits about Hewlett and other stuff out.
I failed miserably!

I vaguely remember something about a film set. Wasn't it next to an extinct volcano?

All I recall about a volcano was a strange theory about Madeleine's body having been dumped in one.....as well as my five year old grandson being very knowledgeable about the workings of a volcano!
Re: Villas by the sea being searched
I remember that too.
I seem to think that there was a submarine theory round about the same time but can't recall the details!

Not those raggle-taggle gypsies again! Clarries favourite suspects. Since when did gypsies drive very tatty little red cars? All the ones I've seen have the latest Mercs and Beamers. Interesting story - complete rubbish of course, but interesting.

I got invited to a gypsy wedding once. Two thousand people there! Woweee!! The cars! Chelsea tractors, Mercs, Beamers! I was the raggle-taggle one there!

I have never seen the gypsies driving tatty red cars. The ones you see around here all roam about on carts piled with rags and rubbish and several dirty children pulled by scrawny ill-looking horses which only keep going because the driver is beating the life out of them. Such nice people.
