Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb is in a coma, it has been reported
Follow:Bee Gees, Robin Gibb, Robin Gibb Cancer Remission, Robin Gibb Hospital, Robin Gibb Remission, Robin Gibb Cancer, Titanic, Uk Celebrity, UK Entertainment News Bee Gees pop legend Robin Gibb was in a coma last night, amid fears he has only days to live.
The 62-year-old's family are understood to be at his bedside, The Sun reports.
A friend said: "Our prayers are with Robin. He has kept so positive and always believed he could beat this.
"If there is anyone you would put money on pulling through such a dire situation, it would be Robin because he is a fighter. But this is a battle he will struggle to win."
Gibb has been battling colon and liver cancer and was recently hospitalised with pneumonia.
He was forced to pull out of a performance at the Royal Philharmonic's premiere performance of The Titanic Requiem in London on April 10, because he was so ill.
An spokesperson for the star said: "On Sunday 25 March, Robin Gibb underwent further intestinal surgery.
"He is currently recovering in hospital and therefore, for the time being, all existing commitments prior to The Titanic Requiem concert, have had to be cancelled."
His son Robin-John, who co-wrote the symphonic piece, told the audience that his father was still recovering in a clinic.
Before the performance, he said: "He sends all his love. We are all praying for him and hoping he has a speedy recovery."
Last month the star told The Mirror he felt "fantastic".
"'I am beating cancer and can't wait to carry on with my work," he said.

I was just going to post the sky News about this, sad news indeed. What is it about Cancer that is so rife and affects all parts of the body, yet still
no understanding of what causes it or in many cases cannot cure it.

Re: Robin Gibb in coma
It's terrible isn't it? The Bee Gees have had hits since the 50's, so 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's - that's 6 decades of making music!
I have a friend on the Isle of Man where l believe they were born, this song is haunting and Robin sings it, it's the unofficial IOM national anthem. I defy you not to cry.

Thank you Cherry , it was such a shock because she was being treated for Diabetes, lost a lot of weight, thought it was the Diabetic Pills, her Doctor
changed them . Three weeks later she was vomiting, rushed to Hospital and was dead in 48 hrs.!!!!! It turned out when she had a scan at the Hospital she had Cancer of the ovaries and Womb. I wouldn,t say anything to upset her Family but if that was my Doctor I would have had a scan and all kinds of tests....I can't understand how her Doctor didn't do anything when she was losing so much weight.

That's so sad, and I would have thought should have been picked up by the doctors,
must have been a terrible shock to you all. May she be resting in peace.

Robin Gibb of Bee Gees dies at 62
LONDON (AP) -- Robin Gibb, a founding member of the Bee Gees who helped propel the group to international stardom, has died. He was 62.
Gibb's representative Doug Wright announced in a statement that Gibb passed away Sunday "following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery."
Gibb was one of three brothers whose soaring falsetto harmonies helped power such hits as "Stayin' Alive" and "Night Fever."
The band was best known for the influential "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack album that became one of the fastest selling albums of all time. The 1977 soundtrack came to epitomize the flashy disco era.
Gibb enjoyed a long career as a Bee Gee and as a solo artist and also produced and wrote songs for many other performers.
He appeared gravely ill at his recent public appearances and had to cancel a string of meetings as his condition worsened.
