I must say that I am surprised if SY has come to the conclusion that Madeleine is still alive. Statistically speaking most police forces I would imagine would come to the conclusion that a person who has disappeared without any trace at all would sadly not be alive. They must have evidence then that things are different in this particular case. As far as I know there hasn't been a British child who has been found alive after this length of time. Not counting of course cases where one parent has taken the child abroad. Still, I suppose if this review gets the case re-opened then it will be a start. But shame they couldn't have just saved the £2million and asked Portugal to re-open the case. I had a feeling from the that somebody who was now deceased would be declared the abductor. And the case permanently closed. But then I don't suppose Madeleine would be alive if it that was true. It is quite mysterious.

The McCanns do not want a re-opening otherwise they would have asked a long, long time ago. Portugal requires more evidence to re-open unilaterally. Now it looks like SY is saying that the case should be re-opened - on what grounds is unclear. It does however put the ball in Portugal's half of the court and it must now be seen to be doing something positive. If Portugal does not re-open the case (and it may have good legal reasons still not to do that) the McCanns will have ammunition to use against the Portuguese justice system. Exactly what is going on is anybody's guess. Once politics and the mediaq enters into justice anything is possible.

And then again I could be totally wrong - it's just the way I see the whole situation.

The abductor has been given a head start to scarper.

The Mccanns’ have been given ‘evidence’ that Madeleine is alive to use against Amaral in the libel case.

Yet again, Madeleine appears to receive nothing.

exactly lets say if maddie really was abducted the abductor hearing that the SY know that maddie is alive what would the abductor do stay where they are and let people see that he/she has maddie or run???

Let's not beat Around the bush here.......there's a 99% chance she is dead......there is a 1% chance, without a body off proof ...that she is alive......the met are going with the 1%.


It has been stated....if a child goes missing the first 24 hours a vital......after 36 hours the percentage off a child being found alive, goes down....48 it goes down even more and if a child is not found within 72 hours like with Sarah Payne , the chances off finding that child alive is ......nil.......



And that comes from a top cop.....so I would like to ask redwood.....why does he think THIS child is alive....when if she has been with a pedophile she would NOT be able to survive the abuse for very long let alone 5 bloody years .

He will always keep silent because that is exactly what he has to do, especially while he is still working. However, I know what he thinks because he said it himself: he will believe his dogs until the day Madeleine is found alive. And I could't agree with him more.

Sounds like Andy has been sucked in by Dave Edgar`s theory that Maddie is in a lair somewhere.

Edgar's Theory was that Madeleine was within a 5 mile Radius of PDL.Well if that was the case why did he not find her. Load of Bull
