ShareShe's given her first interview since her break-up with Kris Smith.

And it makes for some pretty sad reading.

So where did it all go wrong?

Dannii told Marie Claire Australia: "Fame and work have always had an impact on my family since I went into this business at seven years of age. It's all I know."

Dannii has been lying low since the break-up

The 40-year-old's kept a low profile since announcing that her relationship with Brit model Kris had come to an end last month.

Now trying to come to terms with being a single mum to 22-month-old Ethan, she told the mag: "How do I juggle everything now? Some days with ease, some days with difficulty."

Dannii has had a tough month since her affair with Simon Cowell was revealed in his controversial biography. While it occurred a year before she met Kris, it's thrust her straight back into the spotlight at a time when we imagine she'd rather be sat in her pyjamas eating ice cream.

She said: "I have found that, over the years, whatever happens, you have to roll with it. I try to take it all in my stride, but when it affects my loved ones I feel an internal struggle with the love for my work."

So does that mean she won't be returning to The X Factor as a judge this year? We can't imagine she'd be too pleased to sit next to Simon after his epic kiss-and-tell.

Sources are saying that she's given the show the thumbs up, but her comments suggest that she doesn't want to uproot Ethan from his Aussie home.

The full interview appears in the June issue of MC AustraliaShe added: "He has his little routine now. He has swimming lessons; he has things that are important to him. I don't want to unsettle him to follow me around the globe."

Oh, is that a no, then?

She has, at least, shed some light on what she wants for the future...

"Happiness. For all of us. Whatever that may be."

Dannii Minogue has reportedly turned down a £1 million offer to return to this year's series of The X Factor.

We must admit, we were totes hoping she'd end up rekindling her romance with the boss.

But you can't hide your blushes on live TV, folks - and Dannii knows we'd just be looking for excuses to say the pair were having sexy times again.

The Sun's reported that Dannii has withdrawn from talks with the big bosses, with sources claiming that she asked for a whopping £5 million to return.

Yikes.

One of her pals told the paper she's still angry over Simon's decision to spill the beans on their little love affair, saying: "It was so upsetting for her to be described as one of Simon's 'toys' and for him to talk about their fling in such a humiliating way.

"Huge sums have been put on the table and it's not convinced her. It wasn't about money. She could easily have got more than a million. They desperately wanted her."

Simon will no doubt be disappointed

Dannii was missing from the judging line-up last year as she was busy working on Australia's Got Talent, and she's spoken openly about not wanting to uproot her two-year-old son Ethan from life in Oz.

In her first interview since splitting from Kris Smith, she told Marie Claire Australia: "He has his little routine now. He has swimming lessons; he has things that are important to him. I don't want to unsettle him to follow me around the globe."
