Re: Rabies.....
How many doctors do you have to see BEFORE they actually GET IT..
Goes to doctor, says she is Ill...explains herself.....sent home.
Goes to doctor, says she feels Ill, explains herself.....sent home.
Goes to A and E, says she is feeling ill....ding... Ding....Alarm bells....been to India, got bitten by a puppy, feels VERY ill.....obvious isn't it but NOT to doctors.
Now she is critically ill in wollwich hospital ..
Another case....women has twins at 13 weeks early...not critical....they are strong little boys.... Hours later they are fighting for their lives..... Few hours later , they die in the mothers arms, fitting...
REASON.....doctor gave one twin 650m off morphine Instead off 50m and the other twin 800!!!!!!m instead off 50...

Re: Rabies.....
The hospital, they say, have lied, they parents couldn't see the twins for 12 hours because they say they were giving the twins the 'antidote' trying to reverse THERE mistake, untrue.
So....not only do these doctors don't know how to read symptoms ....they cant seem to read or write either or even speak English either.

The story of the twins is heartbreaking. Healthy twins die because of doctors! And the poor mother is pregnant again but can't enjoy her pregnancy because she is worried about what happened last time. Its a disgrace!

Re: Rabies.....
There was a time when travellers to certain Countries were immunised against certain diseases , I think the Embassies of these Countries monitored
the situation for the Government . Wonder if Rabies in India was considered a risk to Holidaymakers.

Re: Rabies.....
Rabies is a risk in many countries, even the ones you wouldn't think about. Toronto used to be known as the rabies capital of the world, no idea if it still is. All travel information, which includes common sense too of course, tells you never to touch or pet any strange or stray animal no matter what country you are in.

I must be the luckiest woman on Earth. I pet all cats and dogs that come my way.

Re: Rabies.....
There are many stray dogs around Europe, looking painfully thin and mangy, I wouldn't go near them either.

I find it very difficult not to Claudia but although I come from a family of animal lovers I was always told never to touch a strange animal because you just never know if it is going to suddenly cause you harm and apart from that you never know what diseases it might be carrying and I would not wish to take home any disease to my own pets. So much as I love all animals I will not pet strange or stray ones. We have on occasions rescued stray animals but have always used the protection of leather gauntlets which we keep in the boot of the car. Yes you have been lucky but were you in India,Africa or some such place you might not have been so lucky.

Re: Rabies.....
Oh well, there's cancer, pollution, car crashes and threats from pros. I'll continue to take the risk and pet all animals that cross my way. I was very recently in an animal shelter where I live and that's what I did to dozens of dogs. I got home a lot happier and I'm still here.
