Re: Are Ben police as useless as Maddie's?
I've been remembering a few hair-raising moments when my son wandered off - he's 33 now! Yes it happens to us all and I did not judge the McCanns for claiming to have left their children unattended. I don't now believe that they did; it was merely an ill thought out story to explain how their daughter was not there.
There was an early report on the Ben story that he was not reported missing for several hours because the grandparents thought he had gone out with their elder son and it was only when the latter returned that the alarm was raised. It may of course not be true but it did strike me as rather odd. I don't recall ever hearing where the younger son was at the time and what he was doing; I have a feeling that information could be very relevant.

Ah that's right NBY. Also, l didn't know until a recent article (maybe in the last year) that someone (Greek police?) accused Kerrys brother of taking Ben for a ride on his bike, accidentally killing him and burying his body before returning home. They got him in such a state even he was convinced that's what happened and he had hypnotherapy and regressed to see if that's what happened with no success.
ETA: I didn't know there were 2 sons there??

Yes there was an 11-year-old there too and the lack of information as to his whereabouts puzzles me.

A complete moron who doesn't have a clue about the investigation only what her friends the McCanns has told her. She wants to give her backside a rest and try talking through the correct orifice. She is also going to be the new face of the revamped Daybreak following the dismissal of Dan Lob and Kate Garraway. Ah well, I can't stand her or the programme so I won't be missing anything.

Yes, I am sure it is relevant. Even if it has nothing to do with the elder son, how could the grandparents just simply think, oh he's gone off on the motorbike with his uncle. How could they have made that assumption? Were they so used to the elder son just taking an 18 month old toddler off without informing them? And on a motorbike of all things, with no helmet. What sort of family allows a toddler to just go off with another family member without that communication between all of them? The very minute they realised he was not outside playing, they should have swung into action, he was 18 months old, still a baby, but they made an assumption he was with his uncle. I do feel sorry for this family and, at times, I find myself feeling sorry for the McCanns, but I do get a feeling that both of these families have more in common than we realise and that someone in their surrounding circles knows something.

That would be too good for her I don't think she's even fit for that.
You're right!

Some more details courtesy of the Jill Havern site.

I note that Kerry states categorically on her website that Ben was "abducted by a criminal" but I wonder if she felt that at the time when, like Madeleine, the most likely explanation was that he had wandered off.
There is a mention of younger brother Danny being at the farmhouse so I'd be very interested to know if he had been playing with Ben.

He had been playing with him...Ben had been on the bike before but I think IF the brother or anyone else had had anything to do with bens disappearance.....they would off broke in the first 48 hours....let's not forget, Kerry and the family were NOT treated with tweezers by the Greek police unlike the mccanns....there were no expensive lawyers either.

Re: Are Ben police as useless as Maddie's?
From what I remember is....I don't think Greek authorities searched for him for at least 24-48 hours until the Greek police were sure that the family had nothing to do with his disappearance.....THEN they treated it as an abduction.
Kerry was treated totally different to the mccanns....with the mccanns their word was treated as gospel, she was abducted and that's that....they should off been made suspect from day one when their 'alibis' didn't match up....we most certainly would not be here today if their was no intervention from outside quarters preventing this from happening.
