Best team won so shows how far England are behind the rest really.Second big tournament where rooney has let us down, doesn't have the pace or the attitude or the fitness level anymore for big games like this.
I agree, this was set up for him to show everyone the class he has been built to be, but he failed miserably. Just a good over rated premiership player and nothing more really. Italy deserved the win by mile, well done to them. Think Spain will win it in the end though
Hope not!
Why not! hehe They are the best team by far at the moment, they play the game beautifully even if they have the handicap of Torres
Well, for starters they'll be playing against Portugal next Wednesday and I would have to be nuts to root for them. Secondly, even if they beat us and get to the final I think that Germany will win (I'm assuming Germany will beat Italy, of course!).
Re: England European Championship................
I am hoping Spain will win now, would love to see more of Fabregas

Re: England European Championship................
Spain are without a doubt the best team to watch their pretty passing will get the better of Portugal who are mostly a one man team, but they will not beat the Germans who are better all round and annoyingly efficient as always. That said,Italy cannot miss so many chances again so the Germans will have to deal with Pirlo or risk a shock exit !

Re: England European Championship................
The FA has described racist tweets directed at two footballers who missed penalties for England on Sunday as "appalling and unacceptable".
Police have launched an investigation into the racial abuse of Chelsea defender Ashley Cole and Manchester United winger Ashley Young.
They were singled out for abuse on the social network by one user, calling themselves Steve.
In a series of offensive postings the user goaded others who criticised him for his rants.
In one post the tweeter wrote: "All I got to say is this was just a joke, you guys need to relax, police know i was kiddin around and they won't bother me hopefully, cheers."
The most recent tweet says: "The police won't bother me mate i can assure you that."
The Football Association said in a statement: "We are concerned at the reports regarding allegations of abuse aimed at England players Ashley Cole and Ashley Young on Twitter.
"They have just given everything for the national team at Euro 2012 and it is appalling and unacceptable that messages of an abusive type are being posted."
The Metropolitan Police said: "We are aware of alleged racist comments on Twitter following last night's England game and have launched an investigation.
"The allegation was made to MPS on 25 June by a member of the public relating to comments on a Twitter account supposedly based in London.
"No arrests at this early stage.
"The MPS is examining possible offences under Section 18/19 Public Order Act 1986."
This is not the first case of footballers facing racist abuse on Twitter.
Liam Stacey, 21, from Wales was given a 56-day sentence in March for mocking Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba after he collapsed on the pitch and also racially abusing two Twitter users.
One of his tweets read: "LOL. **** Muamba. He's dead!!! #Haha".
The Swansea University biology undergraduate was quickly tracked down and arrested
He admitted inciting racial hatred when he appeared at Swansea Magistrates' Court.

Re: England European Championship................
wow the skies are lit up with fireworks, shouting and cheering can be heard from all bars in the vicinity, Spanish neighbours out in their gardens and on their roofs cheering, cars honking, it's amazing, what a brilliant atmosphere.

Re: England European Championship................
The best team won and deservedly so, hopefully the English FA will take on board the obvious shortage of quality players prepared to play as a team, that are available for selection to our National squad here in England.
The way forward is to restrict the number of foreign players allowed in all English teams to just 1 or 2 players despite the 5 or 6 which has been set to avoid contravention of European Law. (The curse of the EU has even invaded our National game).
Rich clubs may well still dominate the leagues, but they will have to invest in our promising youngsters rather than buy instant success at the expense of their development.

I agree with all that but unfortunatly it wont happen as there's too much money involved and what would Arsenal do ? They would only have two players left in the team !
