I agree regarding consenting adults, and I am certainly no prude, but if a hedonistic lifestyle resulted in an infant's death, then as you say that's a much different kettle of fish, and a very strong reason for a pact being formed.

I'm just off to restock the Andrews Liver Salts.

The mystery (or maybe just one of them) for me is that, if a child was to die as the result of neglect or something a lot more sinister, and the parents have dodgy friends in high places, they would be able to pretend that he or she died of natural causes (cot deaths don't happen only to babies) or through some unavoidable freak accident.

They would bring the child home for a private funeral and there would probably be nothing in the news other than an item in a local paper.

Yet in this case the McCanns have screamed a ridiculous story from the rooftops from day one and been happy to portray themselves as selfish, useless parents.

I keep coming back to the unpleasant scenario that this was all a preplanned hoax for financial gain; I can't think of anything else.

A pre-planned hoax that went wrong ? It is a very good possibility, it would also explain the Tapas willingness to cover up, they were going to get a share of the earnings as well ?

I too have noticed the androgynous look.
Glimpses of it in FP and SH too ... IMHO.

It's not unknown for groups of middle-aged professionals to hang together under the banner of 'we-work-hard-and-we-play-hard-and-anything-goes'.
Which is all fine and dandy until the hedonism gets out of hand, kicks down all the barriers, the norms and taboos - and begins to complicate established relationships.

And if there are children who could get caught in the crossfire ...

That is quite a thought and not something that had ever struck me before. If you take a quick synopsis of what might have happened, it could be that the children (as many think) were not alone every night - the "sick" adult was looking after them. On the faked abduction night, was there a chance taken by all because it had to be seen as though they were alone. Perhaps Madeleine was drugged in order to be "abducted", what if Kate changed her mind and child was brought back to apartment, had an accident while groggy and fell ?

This might account for the people who said they heard shouts for Madeleine much earlier in the evening - were the others carrying out their part not knowing the plan had been aborted ? How about that Portugese taxi man - his statement niggles at me all the time. Was Madeleine to be handed over to the "abductor" in the car park of that hotel, so they were in the taxi to go to the meeting point, but bottled it at the last minute. Does that then take account of the Smith sighting - was McCann returning with Madeleine, with Kate having put the brakes on the original plan ?

Sorry for the questions, I am just writing as I think. I am sure when I look at the timeframes again, there will be many reasons why this is rubbish.

Yes, she didn't arrive until later, but I mentioned her as she seemed to be almost as buddy-buddy with KM as FP.
They just seem much of a muchness to me.

In my opinion the indications seem to be that this was preplanned.

Welcome back Buildersbum - you have been missed.

There are times when I feel like you but it is good to know that not everyone has fallen for this hoax and that there is a hope, however slight, that the truth will be allowed to come out.

They will off got away with it when every single person , and I mean down to the last one, stops questioning them, stops accusing them....it won't happen.

If people haven't got a conscience, then can do anything and feel no guilt at all.

Justice for Madeleine and the right for the little girl to be found is a different matter though. Sometimes I fear it is that, that will never happen.

I don't doubt that Healy and McCann will never have a good nights sleep again. They may not have a conscience, but they will forever look over their shoulder and wonder if something, somewhere will lead to that whole deck of cards to fall down around them. They live in their own world, they believe their own lies at this stage. Repeat something often enough and you will believe it.

I truly hope it happens, but given a choice between little Madeleine being found and laid to rest safely or the McCanns getting their comeuppance, well I would choose Madeleine to be found. I care little for Healy and McCann and care even less about what may or may not happen to them. It is those who they have tried to destroy and Madeleine herself I wish peace and justice for.

I believe she will be found, someday, whether it is in my lifetime or not, will remain to be seen. I believe also if the SY review does not kick start the investigation, then Healy and McCann will never have to face up to what they did. That being the case, I fear for the world and society we live in.
