John Geraghty? a missing tapas?
What do people know of John Geraghty?
He is mentioned by Father Pacheco in his statement
I had never heard of him before:
a google brought up an old mail article
He was very much a facilitator wasn't he.. however I can not see an interview listed with him in the files?
I find it especially interesting considering he garaged the scenic and also got the Mccan's the key to the church, when there are questions about what exactly they were doing there.
I just also read the following from here: http://gerrymccan-abuseofpower-humanrights.blogspot.co.uk/2008_08_01_archive.html
Would this explain why Gerry said that he was not in Portugal to have fun?
He also played a lot of golf which is where business details are tradtionally made,
and his background check revealed that Gerry reported golf clubs stolen from his car! (not that im sure what link im drawing here)
He is mentioned by Father Pacheco in his statement
He gave them the key to the church on the 7th or 8th May upon the suggestion of John Geraghty, a resident of the parish, so that they could calmly go to the church without any media pressure. Someone from the church gave the key to John Geraghty, who then passed it on to the McCann's, with Father Pacheco's permission.

The forensic scientists - who spent more than nine hours examining the vehicle - have been hired by the McCanns to rubbish Portuguese police "evidence".
The Renault has been at the centre of the detectives' claims against the couple since they were both named as arguidos at the beginning of the month.

Fit for the fight: Gerry and Kate McCann out jogging yesterday
Portuguese newspapers reported that DNA found in the car boot indicated Madeleine's blood, hair and bodily fluids.
The car had been garaged at the home of John Geraghty, a friend of the McCanns, near Praia da Luz.
A source said the team "took as many samples as possible".
"It was an extremely thorough job."

"In Jan/Feb 2008, Patricia Hewitt rejected a big PFI ( = 'Private Finance Initiative) from a group based on Leicestershire which is believed to have included the Tapas 9 Doctors. PFI is a way of bringing in big amounts of money into the NHS from the private sector. I think it would have involved building a new, large, very expensive hospital. It is believed that the Tapas 9 were in behind a group of businessmen - contractors, builders etc. who were behind the PFI bid that Hewitt eventually rejected. John Geraghty was one of those businessmen. He lives in the next village to Praia da Luz, and is a member of the local R.C. Church. He was instrumental in helping the McCanns get a key to the church (to pray????) and loaned them a car (NB not the one in which cadaver odour was found). A possible scenario is that they booked their holiday in Praia da Luz so they could all work out how to revive their failed PFI bid."

Re: John Geraghty? a missing tapas?
John Geraghty sure got himself involved in the case, up to his neck. Would he really do all that to complete strange? I doubt it. I smell a rat.
And it's possible he knew gerry before, as he did some work at Leicestershire hospital. (some dubious agreements/he got the deal...far as I remember)

Didn't he store the Renault Scenic for them after they acquired it for their own "forensic testing"?

It was reported that he did. He lives in the next village, and is a member of the local R.C. Church. There was mention of a Private Finance Investment deal that he and the tapasniks were involved in. Possibly Murat too??? Certainly the dots have been connected up in the past..... as Loopdaloop has outlined above.

That doesn't even add up, Maddie went missing in 2007, so they would have been in PDL to revive the bid which wasn't then rejected!
It doesn't add up the other way either, l can't believe the tapas 9 were working on the bid in the aftermath of 2007.
