My mother, for many many years, has said paedophilia is a crime of the rich, famous, and "respectable" members of society. Not a crime of the ordinary working man. Day by day she is being proven correct.

I'd agree in some respects but it can't be denied that there are paedophiles in all walks of life. There's the media stereotype of dirty old men hanging around schools who get thrown to the wolves if caught and there's the ones with influence and / or money who are protected by their own kind.

Let's hope that more of them are rounded up in their lifetime rather than the truth not coming out until after they're dead.

NBY - of course it is not exclusve to any particular group of people, however the point is it is most certainly not exclusive to the "dirty old men" stereotype and is much more prevalent in the "respectable" society than people admit to. The Catholic Church is of course a very good recent example.

Tanszi - i have long thought there is a possibility. there has always been a rotten sort of undercurrent in this case that just lies beneath the surface, never rearing its head above the water but never going away.

I presume there is no legal problem if I state that, in my opinion, paedophilia is a possible element in this case and I don't mean in relation to the supposed "abductor".

However, the question then arises, if that is the case, why have the McCanns screamed their story from the rooftops from day one?

Maybe they were sure that their friends in high places would protect them?

It certainly seems to me that the last sentence is true!

I think nows the time for the media to increase awareness of the statement about david payne and also the social worker Yvonne Martin that recognised him!!

Yvonne Martin said her bit at the time and for whatever reason, chose to say no more. Hopefully now, encouraged by the victims of JS, who have spoken out, she will be given the strength to tell all she knows. She could be the key to the mystery of Madeleine's disappearance.

"Who would of thought?" reminds me of five years ago when I first heard that Madeleine was "missing". It took me about a month to come to grips with her parents being involved because up until then, while I found them to be suspicious, I kept thinking it was impossible "because they're Doctors".

stories, but it maybe possible to connect

As I understand it ultimately if they dont come up to scratch it will be the
GMC who has responsibility for getting rid of them. However the GMC allow
doctors to practise with criminal records including sexual offences so is anything
really going to change. I doubt it.

I don't know cherry, the docs have had some bad publicity this last couple of years so maybe the good ones and the most of them are, will hopefully welcome the opportunity to be seen to be cleaning up their act.

I`m sure it will eventually come to light what hospitals these doctors worked at. Interesting
