Re: 2012 MAYAN APOCALYPSE
There is an Alien spaceship in the subterranean (upside down volcano). It is also thought The Holy Grail may be hidden here.
It is off course the Winter Solstice and this region is well known for its vineyards so there you go then, plenty to drink on the way to the New World.
Advice is to form an orderly queue as the shape shifting lizards have been known to eat humans who misbehave, their aim is to breed a passive population for future use.
Think i'll take my chances and make for the top of the North Downs and see if ET will let me cadge a lift cant be arsed to go on the ferry in case the weather cuts up rough.

Mayan apocalypse: 'Star Wars temple' in Guatemala prepares for the end of the world
At the 8th Century temple of the double-headed serpent, deep in the Guatemalan jungle amid the ancient ruins of the Mayan city of Tikal, those convinced that the world is about to end are gathering for the end of times.
Once at the heart of a conquering civilisation in its own right, the ancient city of Tikal is now a pilgrimage site for both hard-core Star Wars fans and enthusiasts of Maya culture Photo: Alamy

With only one full day to go before the apocalypse, believers have made tracks for Mayan sites in Central America where they will await the fulfillment of what they see as a thousands-year-old prophecy foretelling mankind's doom.
Dotted with towering limestone structures Tikal is known as the New York City of Maya ruins. In recent days guards have been throwing out naked women dancing and chanting around fire pits, and local hotels are fully booked for tonight as doomsday-mongers descend for their final night on Earth.
The area is most familiar to cinema-goers as the moon Yavin 4, the rebel base in "Star Wars," and has also attracted film fans seeking to witness the apocalypse where" the force is strong."
According to Ricardo Alejos, the president of Guatemala's Star Wars fan club; "Something big is going to happen. The Maya were an incredibly precise people."
Dec 21, 2012 sees the end of the 13th and final baktun in the 5,125-year Maya Long Calendar and, according to some, the world will end at 11.12am GMT, the time of the summer Solstice. That will be just before sunrise in Tikal. Those in the UK will have time for breakfast.

A post on a social networking website urged followers to "unite with the Army of Light which will save all humanity" and more than 150 people had confirmed attendance before police stepped in.
On the other side of the world a mountain in France called Pic de Bugarach emerged as one of the few places where people could survive the cataclysm.

According to New Age lore the hilltop will open on the last day and aliens in spaceships will save nearby humans.
However, the mayor of Bugarach Jean-Pierre Delord is either a non-believer, or intending just to save himself. He announced police would block anyone trying to get to the mountain, adding: "I am making an appeal to the world - do not come to Bugarach."
A rival spot for potential salvation is Mount Rtanj in Serbia, a pyramid-shaped peak where magnetic anomalies have been reported.
Darko Jovic, manager of the nearby Balasevic hotel, said: "We're booked out. People were even calling from the United States and we had to say 'No'. I couldn't even get a room for my own mother and sister."
According to the pessimists Earth will meet its end when it is hit by a mythical planet known as Nibiru, or a comet, or giant soar flares, or the poles will suddenly shift. A survey this summer found 12 per cent of Americans are worried.
But Nasa has dismissed all concerns. Dr David Morrison, an astrobiologist at the space agency, said scientists would have seen Nibiru, or a comet, by now and they could not be hiding behind the sun.
He added: "I have had kids saying they are considering suicide, mothers emailing me saying the6y are considering killing their children before the end of times."
Modern Mayans say their ancestors did not foretell Armageddon and the calendar will just roll over.
Alberto Perez of the Maya Association in California, said: "We are perceived in this almost negative way, like we predicted the end of the world. We didn't. We're worried about day-to-day things - jobs, education, immigration, health care."

Re: 2012 MAYAN APOCALYPSE
ALL OKAY IN SOUTH-EAST ENGLAND!
We've heard from JFAK in Tasmania (where it's already tomorrow) so I think we're all going to make it.
I remember being frightened out of my wits by the Cuban missile crisis in 1962 - I really didn't think that anybody would be waking up the next day.

I was standing in a long queue outside the Post Office depot, waiting to collect a couple of parcels the postman hadn't delivered. At 11.12 I looked at the time and said to the woman next to me, "It's 11.12, nothing is happening!" Well, she laughed and a few other people joined in. Once we got off the pavement, into the office building, around 20 minutes later, people in the queue decided that nothing was going to happen! There was a man in the queue, staring fixedly up at the sky for most of the time we were out there on the pavement. Don't know what he was looking for, but I didn't see anything!

Re: 2012 MAYAN APOCALYPSE
Perhaps we could have a topic on whom we would choose to take onto our ark or into our nuclear bunker. George Clooney and Rafael Nadal will have to spread themselves very thin to meet the demand!
