Kate's book
I haven't read the book but I did just read this on Jill's forum (thanks to Peter Mac), apparently it's on page 2 of the Foreward:
" I have had to keep saying to myself: I know
the truth, we know the truth and God knows the truth. And one day, the
truth will out.
Yet publishing the truth is fraught with risks for our family. "
What on earth does she mean? So what truths does she know that she doesn't want to publish?
" I have had to keep saying to myself: I know
the truth, we know the truth and God knows the truth. And one day, the
truth will out.
Yet publishing the truth is fraught with risks for our family. "
What on earth does she mean? So what truths does she know that she doesn't want to publish?

Re: Kate's book
I am now absolutely aghast at the thought that Kate didn't tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in her book.........
Surely the only people who'd be worried about the truth of anything coming out are those whose activities are illegal.

Well I'm pleased to hear that.
Will it be in Me Me Me -The Sequel Bewk ???
Because rest assured, the truth WILL out, despite all her best efforts.

Re: Kate's book
It's a strange remark to make but Kate was never succinct. Her response when asked why she didn't search for Madeleine "we were busy" must make her feel she wished she hadn't said that

Re: Kate's book
It's interesting to see the full quote in context.
It still makes no sense though that being truthful would lead to more criticism.
I'll add this link - http://onlyinamericablogging.blogspot.com/search/label/McCanns - which to me explains perfectly why the official version of events has more holes in it than a sieve.

Thanks for that pamalam.
No, it still makes no sense to me. If she wanted to 'shout the truth from the roof tops', why not answer the questions, do a reconstruction and ask for the case to be reopened.

Most of that makes no sense: she knows the truth, they know the truth and God knows the truth, but the only person who knows what happened is the abductor?

Re: Kate's book
Hasn't Kate in her almighty graciousness forgiven the actual "abductor" but not of course anyone trying to find out the truth of what happened?

Re: Kate's book
Thanks NBY a long read , will digest later, but this is a glaring mistake "· Dr Matthew Oldfield ‘checked the apartment from the outside’ at around 9.00pm
to 9.03pm." Oldfield didn't check until 9.30pm.
Listening to the McCanns is like "oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive". Trouble is....not one Person , either the PJ , Leicester Police or SY has challenged their version of events.

Re: Kate's book
Panda, I think it was Matt Oldfield at 9 and Russell O'Brien at 9.30.

Re: Kate's book
Thanks Anna, obviously there are discrepancies ,,,,,I presume this is the Tapas Group version? Oldfielld in this one is shown as checking at 9.35pm, that they all assembled at 8.45pm , the McCanns were there at 8.30pm and it was the Paynes who were late. I remember reading that when Kate was going to check on the children at 9.30pm Oldfield offered . It makes more sense than Oldfield checking at 8.55pm aand Gerry at 9.05pmAnnaEsse wrote:

Imo it might be the literal truth. If you consider that 'they've taken her' could also apply to a body being removed to another place by a person unacquainted with KM - this careful formulation would perhaps not even alert a polygraph.
The 'takers' can be abductors if one wishes to lie, not only to the world, but to oneself.
Purely theoretical of course but I do know habitual liars who are exactly like this.
The repeating 'truth' statement - she might be talking about the truth of the fact that Maddie has been 'taken'. Indeed she has.
I think she's trying to formulate a mantra that she can use or in the way advertising is used: the thing you're selling has to be named as often as possible.
They're selling the truth. Not as such of course, just the word.

Re: Kate's book
You could take kate mccanns remarks as a 'veiled' threat at the Authorities who are hiding a bigger secret (clone snatchback theory maybe ?)
Or maybe she's just mental.

The other explanation is that she is a pathological liar,a 'mythomaniac' who has invented a story in her head to excuse the reality.

^^ This...
She probably does want to tell the truth so that she can grieve properly, but to do so puts her family in jeopardy, she and her husband will do jail time and the twins will be taken into care (they couldn't be given to family members under the circumstances) So she can't tell the truth...ever...
But the truth has a way of coming out, no matter how you try to suppress it, and this is what she is really scared of IMO
