I don't think I've heard of Lift Consultancy in connection with the McCanns. Is that the correct name as I can't find any companies with that or a similar name which deal with anything other than installing lifts!

Yes, Lift consultancy is Portuguese. I remember having a good laugh about it at the time, because Mister Gerry might be getting "lifted". Ask anybody from Glasgow what "lifted" means and you'll see just how ironic it is.

I think Lift Consulting were the firm employed to make the McCs more popular with the Portuguese.

They are based in Portugal NBY....there might be mention of them in mccannfiles

Ye gods, trying to make the McCanns popular in Portugal must have been a Herculean task! It would be easier to hold back the tide.

Does "lifted" mean something like "too big for your boots" Iris? That would certainly apply to a certain GM.

Lift Consultants were hired by the mccanns (they are a PR company) to change people's opinion off them in Portugal.


In other words, change the bad reporting to good reporting and , change people's thinking off them by getting newspapers to print only POSITIVE articles off them ......in other words...brainwashing people Into thinking the mccanns are very nice and saintly people....the British equivalent off Mitchell ....only it didn't work.

A reconstruction is banned in the original location by the two erstwhile prime suspects who have never attempted to clear themselves. So there's no point at all in having a reconstruction, is there?
Heaven forfend that there should be a reconstruction in the very place where the TRUTH will be found.

The gruesome twosome are in charge of this pantomime.
This Crimewatch programme has already rendered itself utterly worthless before it has even been broadcast.

According to The Mail - so we must believe it - the McCanns banned the reconstruction from being done in Portugal to avoid upsetting the police there.

How can you have a reconstruction in another Country ????? different holiday complex , Apartment etc. Since when have the McCanns had authority to dictate to the Programme how to make the reconsrtruction,??? all they need to do is use Amaral's Video.

There is something quite sinister about all this you know, that the McCanns have so much Power . There is a rebel in Cameron's Government who is calling for a Referendum in 2014, I hope this means the end of his reign as PM , while the Government is cutting back on everythinmg, he is quite happy to see £ millions spent on this farce.

Re Crimewatch, Gareth Williams, Madeleine McCann - Jeremy Wilkins & Bridgit O'Donnell associated with crimewatch just happened to be in Prai da Luz at same time as Mccanns! Now what an amazing coincidence that was!!

Scotland Yard detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are planning to use mobile telephone data to trace virtually every person in the Algarve resort where she vanished.
British officers have asked police in 31 countries to help them identify the owners of every mobile telephone logged in Praia da Luz in southern Portugal on May 3, 2007.
Holidaymakers from across the world could receive a call from the officers to ask them what they were doing there at the time.

The Metropolitan Police team investigating Madeleine’s disappearance disclosed Thursday that they are carrying out the first detailed trawl through vast amounts of mobile telephone data in search of suspects and witnesses.
They have singled out 41 “persons of interest” in the case. These include 15 British nationals, at least three of them newly identified since July.
Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, will make a new appeal for help on the BBC’s Crimewatch programme later this month in the light of “fresh, substantive” information uncovered by the Scotland Yard inquiry.
During the summer the Met detectives sent “international letters of request” asking for assistance from police forces in Portugal and 30 other countries, most of them in Europe.

The requests relate to “persons of interest” and unidentified mobile telephone numbers that were recorded in Praia da Luz around the time that Madeleine, then aged three, went missing.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading the new inquiry, said the telephone data could be the key to solving the crime. He added: “A lot of the focus of that is not necessarily to try to find the suspect, it’s trying to find witnesses.”
The data was available to the Portuguese detectives who first investigated Madeleine’s disappearance but has not been analysed in detail until now.
The information includes the numbers of thousands of mobile telephones that were switched on in Praia da Luz that day, even if they did not make any calls, and some of the numbers that they dialled.

It has not been possible to retrieve the contents of text messages that were sent because of the time that has elapsed. Some of the mobile numbers have been linked to specific people but a “significant” proportion remain unattributed. Police have established that most of the guests staying in the resort were from Britain, Germany, Holland and Ireland.
Madeleine vanished from her family’s holiday apartment as her parents dined with friends nearby.
Despite intensive international publicity and a number of reported sightings around the world, no trace of the child has been found.
Scotland Yard initially launched a review of the case, code-named Operation Grange, in 2011 at the request of David Cameron after Mr and Mrs McCann raised concerns that many leads were not fully explored in the original Portuguese inquiry, which was shelved in 2008.
This was upgraded to a full-scale active investigation in July and there are about 35 officers working on it.
Mark Rowley, Assistant Commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police, said they had been getting “increasing cooperation” from the authorities in Portugal.
He said that six “professional and committed” senior Portuguese detectives in the city of Faro in the Algarve were appointed to work on the case with the British officers at the start of September.

you know when you are a kid and you watch something and then realise its not true to form - like wrestling for example - well i watch crime watch -- never again will i think these fact will be real - and that is a shame because there are deserving causes in the show -- and at the end they say we have information coming in bla bla -- dont suppose eddie and keela will get a mention - or infact dna -- 15 out of 19 markers

The murdered man work for GCHQ and I always wondered if he was killed because he was going expose something.
