Just announced, the SKY programme at 7.30pm will be on sky TV , Virgin and Freeview 202

I never saw the Tuesday one so I can comment. Very noticeable that Oldfield's statement has been discarded. First of all he said he went into 5a , then he said he listened at the Window. the Reporter emphasised the fact that Madeleine had not been checked on for an hour.!!!! Also, Smith's Statement is shaky...the Reporter saying if Madeleine was abducted would the Abductor go through the Town with her...good point.!!! Cameron is willing to accept that a lot more money will need to be spent, the people living in PDL are fed up with yet another round of publicity and I don't think Redwood has a clue.

Well if Smiths man turns out to be a friend of the night crèche man and Mr Redwood appears on our screen bursting with joy announcing another revelation moment, then there is absolutely definitely no evidence of abduction. We would then have a missing child, an apartment with no evidence of break-in, statements that do not make sense, no swarthy men, egg men, button men or any other type of unidentified men with children in light coloured pyjamas and EVRD'S positive alerts. Now, that is a revelation moment for Mr Redwood.

You couldn't make this up mossman could you:haha: They phoned Smith and asked him how positive he was about thinking it was Gerald McCann he saw , he seemed confident. then the guy asked if he would undergo hypnosis , Smith had no problem with that. Can you imagine it "I want you to cast your mind back 6 and a 1/2 years, to the night of 3rd May , you are walking home with your family , a man passes you carrying a child who looks asleep, what else csn you remember?

The Dutch crime reporter Peter R de Vries thinks the appeal is just a set-up, trying to "make some wind", stirring up things so that those directly involved wil move. He suspects the recent analyses of the phone movement of the night of the disappearence distilled some suspects. He explains it is the only logical to do after six years and an investment that is cold. The appeal contains nothing new and the e-fits are like work from a child. Two completely different people. Not to take seriously.

After seeing the BBC news at 10 PM, footage on the 9th September 2007 I contacted Leicestershire police with this information. During that time I spoke to all my family members who were with me on the night of 3rd May 2007 about this and the only one who felt the same way as me was my wife. She had seen the video clip of Gerard McCann walking down the stairs of the plane earlier that day. We did not discuss this until some days later. This statement has been read over to me and is correct.


I do not have it to hand now, but I remember reading that Mrs Smith said she did not wish to make a follow up statement. There was no inference as to why this was. The son Peter Smith was always reasonably vague anyway, he said in his first statement he had not paid too much attention because his pregnant wife was feeling unwell and he was taking care of her on the way home.

I don't think they asked Peter Smith to make a second statement, someone else may know for certain though.

I would think the Guardia interview with the Smiths is in the mccannfiles , but it is a bit irrelevant now because we don't know why the Portugese Detectives did nothing about it , suggesting the evidence wasn't strong enough to charge the McCanns with neglect. They were hampered by gordon Btown et al because if they had charged the McCanns maybe one of them woulf have confessed as to what happened to Madeleine and we would not still be here trying to figure this out 6 yrs later. 

No, I watched it again this afternoon and its definitely Peter Smith that Jason Farrell is speaking to on the 'phone.
Farrell asks him if he would be hypnotised and he says he would, it wouldn't do any harm or words to that effect.

Thanks wjk if there's nothing better on the telly I will watch it. Sky and The Sun are really going OTT with regard to the latest news from Redwood, they do nothing for nothing so I am a bit concerned what the motive is.

It's interesting that it is Peter Smith that is doing the talking now though. Martin Smith would be asked about the second statement he made, no ? How could he answer that without being Carter Rucked. Seems to me they are talking to the witness likely to be least damning, did they ask him about the identification his father made ?

That wasn't Martin Smith, but Peter Smith, his son, who had offered to be hypnotised a long time ago. Is this phone call for real because the Smith family has always been very discreet and I suspect an actor played the role. IMO of course.

I think the guy who phoned was a Reporter , it was answered by either Peter or his Father , I never watched the one last night , so will watch the 7pm one, it't on now . The U.K. Press and sky in particular have gone OTT, could this be the start of endgame ? If the SY Detective Chief Inspector was anyone but Redwood I would feel optomistic.

Just watching the bit where Kate is beseiged by Photographers as she enters the Police Station. Cameron says Police "helped to Fund" the cost , who paid the rest? I think if the McCanns had returned Home to await news instead of hanging on until September they would have avoided all the Press .Redwood is now discussing "burglers ....he really is thick,
