Blood under the carpet! Channel 5, right now!
Channel 5, right now (no, it is NOT me on the news! )
The murder of Nicholas and Elizabeth Newall by their own son. The bodies had disappeared and nobody knew what became of them. But a suspicious policeman had all the carpets ripped up in the family home, and discovered minute specks of blood under the carpet. When presented with this fact, there was no reaction from the sons. None. The detective said, "I at least expected one of them to ask, well who the hell died in our living room"?
Funny, that.
Eventually one of the brothers cracked and confessed all to his auntie.

Yes, the McCanns should have been devastated when they heard that cadaver odor was detected in the apartment, yet their immediate reaction was to discredit the dogs. Another suspicious reaction that does not fit the circumstances.

According to Kate she was not upset because she did not believe that a cadaver dog after 3 months could detect the scent of a cadaver that had only been in the apt for a few minutes - basing it on the fact that MM was alive at 915 (if Gerry told her the truth or if that is true) and gone by ten.jinvta wrote:Yes, the McCanns should have been devastated when they heard that cadaver odor was detected in the apartment, yet their immediate reaction was to discredit the dogs. I didn't know enough about cadaver dogs to understand how they worked before this case - if the cops told me one alerted, I'd be horrified and devastated - but evidently Kate did by that August, enough to be cool as a cucumber when told the dog had alerted and to be by her friend who wanted to know "what are they going to do, put them on the witness stand, bark once for no twice for yes" as if that was the big reason to be concerned.
Just rereading the bit where they got the Fund and the Campaign together (the wider agenda appears to be the global Campaign) and she is throwing the PJ under the bus about the media shitstorm, like it wasn't in big part their own doing that brought the press in and kept them in; patting herself on the back for getting the efit of the guy who "in all probability took Madeleine" in front of the world; justifying the Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome private jet trips as necessary because the people who holiday in the Algarve are Germans and Dutch so this would get in front of them, and then all the running and tennis was necessary for fitness and stress relief and done while praying every minute, something she had to do for Madeleine to struggle up the hill while clutching her photo. It may be true but strikes me as being a heap of rationalization as well.
The true thing is where she says they were panicked and just kind of doing things for their own sake. In the arrogant believe that anything Gerry would think up regardless if the PJ wanted him to do it or not, must be best. At least they were doing something and waiting was agony. But that doesn't mean the things they did were helpful to them or Maddie.
