Another gem from The Sun

Another heap of dung from The Sun. The gist of it is that a "beast on a motorbike" tried to grab a child a few weeks before Madeleine "disappeared".

Motorbikes are probably not the vehicle of choice of a child abductor! Surprised the didn't suggest a tractor.

I forgot to mention perhaps the best bit that he put the motorbike into the back of a white van and sped off.

Re: Another gem from The Sun
Thanks NBY.
Where would we be of a Sunday without our usual heap of dung?
Now it's decades since I rode on a motorbike, but I'm wondering how he expected to drive off and steer straight with the kid, who would presumably be kicking and screaming and trying to thump him.
Unless it was one of those big Harleys and he intended popping her in one of the panniers ...

I would like to see a Crimewatch, Andy Redwood special, re-construction of this, starring our very own Tight Rider from the last episode. Perhaps that is the update.

Re: Another gem from The Sun
So, we are to believe that a child snatcher would be daft enough to try to snatch a child and ride away on his motor bike with her screaming through the town?
Re: Another gem from The Sun
Yes, so it seems. Has anybody, anywhere, ever been abducted in this way ? You hear white van stories of people trying to coax children inside, but I don't think I have ever heard of a person being gabbed off the street like that. Only in movies.AnnaEsse wrote:So, we are to believe that a child snatcher would be daft enough to try to snatch a child and ride away on his motor bike with her screaming through the town?
All of these stories, creepy weirdos hanging around PDL, yet Gerry and Kate's mantra. It was so safe, we would never have done it etc...did neither they or one of the friends not notice any of the creepy people ?
A quiet, sleepy Portugese village, in low tourist season, yet full of strange people and I think I will include the tapas group in that. Strange people indeed.

Re: Another gem from The Sun
Nigel Moore at www.mccannfiles.com reminds us of another gem from the Sun. His article "The 'Creepy Man' that time forgot ...but never The Sun", known affectionately as the "George Harrison lookalike" (who even had had own press conference) is dated 18 November 2013. (You'll have to scroll down)

Re: Another gem from The Sun
I think the McCanns have tied themselves up in knots , concocting all these tales of abduction. Had they come clean and showed remorse for leaving the children alone they wouldn't be so notorious now.

Re: Another gem from The Sun
It's what they may have done - other than leaving the children - that's the big problem!

Hi NBY......as the Judge said when the Police asked if there was sufficient evidence to go to Trial.... "Show me the body", that will be the sticking point in this Trial, The Police can't prove Madeleine is dead and the McCanns can't prove she is alive.

The strangest part of this tale is that the parents didn't even report the "beast" to the Portuguese police.
