Who the Hell thought up this Bedroom Tax???
Over 50 Charities have written to the Government about the distress this is causing. One woman on T.V. this morning was in tears with the stress of it all. She is disabled, has a chair lift , the second bedroom houses her wheelchair and other equipment and the £25 a week extra is a big strain .
An Englishman's home is his Castle has always been the byword....how in God's name can you charge someone an extra £25 when they might have need of the Bedroom when their offspring visit , or in one case finishes his career in the Army.?
You are asking people to leave their home where they have lived for many years , maybe get relocated to another Area where they won't know anyone, it is outrageous.

I don't think that you need to convince anyone here Panda about how ridiculous this scheme is.
I always think of the benefit staff who have to deal with the abuse which inevitably comes from such legislation. I have shared office premises with them in the past and I know how bad it can be.

That's the second boob Ian Duncan Smith has made and did he honestly believe it would be accepted that people would willingly leave their homes ????Not Born Yesterday wrote:I don't think that you need to convince anyone here Panda about how ridiculous this scheme is.

This Government have proved incompetent and Cameron is too lily livered to tell the EU that Britain will not accept any Immigrants unless they have a job to come to......he is talking about sorting it out in 2015.!!!!

A stupid tax indeed. Old people especially need some spare rooms for visiting children...

Hi Krisy22, they are treating the population like cattle, not human beings. A Woman was on TV this morning crying, handicapped, has to have a stairlift , the spare room used for her wheelchair etc and she is supposed to pay £25 extra for having a "Spare room."Krisy22 wrote:A stupid tax indeed. I think this will be scrapped, 50 Charities have signed a petition voicing their concern. How can you move people who have lived in the same house for over 30 years, know their neighbours etc, it's demeaning.
Round up the illegals claiming benefits and there will be plenty of extra accommodation, ...the Home Office is a disaster, apparently it will take 30 years to sort out the illegals and Theresa May has done nothing except use a van to frighten the illegals . Not funny really is it.

I completely agree with you Panda. This country's gone mad.

Krisy, the very first Forum I joined years ago was Anorak. I'm a bit of a night owl and there was a Member living in Russia who I suspected liked the Vodka and I think might have been a Diplomat. Anyway, we used to have long conversations about what was going on in the World and he said a Minister voted into Parliament knows very little about the Department he was given and in past times Ministers relied on the Civil Servants to guide them. Tony Blair virtually did away with Civil Servants and his 13 years in Office is responsible for the state we are in now.
