They have since apologised.

Muslim worker should be sacked if she doesn't do her job properly.

Surely all of this should have been sorted out before the job was offered or accepted.

I would have thought so, Chrissie.
What next? Vegetarians refusing to serve customers with meat?

I know it's perhaps unfair but, there's a fair chance Choudray or one of his followers will be behind this. We are reverting back to the conflicts of the 1970s and 80s again but this time with religion as the trouble maker.
If these people aren't prepared to fulfill the contracts they have signed then sack them and give the work to the "Idle British" as they are so keen to call the indigenous work force that they have forced out of employment!

Slowly, slowly...catchee monkey... Is the old saying my granddad use to quote.. He'd roll in his grave if he could see the devastation corrupt deviant politicians have created in the country he spent 4 years of his life fighting for.fuzeta wrote:Slowly slowly a little push here and a little push there...........All amounting to a very big push in the end!

It probably isn't fuzeta, but then again, our politicians aren't socially acceptable creatures so I don't really care what they deem to be PC...fuzeta wrote:malena stool wrote:Slowly, slowly...catchee monkey... Re: Muslim Worker refused to serve M & S Customer with Alcohol
I think M & S have this policy of respecting workers religions which is why this muslim felt he could refuse to serve alcohol. I guess they will have a rethink, the Woman who was not allowed to have her cross and chain visible is a prime example of the way religion has become such an issue because of the Muslims. Britain had a very tolerant attitude towards religion , Protestants, Catholics, et al , why should we bend to outsiders??? Someone needs to make things clear before more trouble starts.

They should not take the jobs if they are unable to fulfill their contract, Panda. You nor I would be able to dictate individual terms.. This is a virtual step back in time to 'Closed Shop' and 'Demarcation Line' practices that used to exist on the shop floor. Only this time it's religious preferences being used as an arguing point.

That's what makes it so scary though Malena, religion is declining in Britain leaving the door open to the Muslim religion which has had many English converts over the last few years.

Re: Muslim Worker refused to serve M & S Customer with Alcohol
The present administration is simply playing into the hands of the likes of Choudray by allowing them to bring their religion out of their churches/mosques into the workplace.
It is simple, tell them either do the job or go somewhere else. There are plenty of candidates who would relish the chance of earning a living wage. But, therein lies the problem, in the main the people who are complaining are those doing the work that is paid at cheap, cut throat rates. Employers are hardly likely to want to reduce their obnoxious profits by sacking those who will work for peanuts and starting to pay a fair days wage for a fair days work.

don't forget the Human Rights of these workers Malena, they will start spending loads of taxapayers money on Court cases. I worked P/Time for M & S a long time ago and found the Firm very good to work for.malena stool wrote:The present administration is simply playing into the hands of the likes of Choudray by allowing them to bring their religion out of their churches/mosques into the workplace.

I'll tell you a funny story. One day I was serving this Woman who was buying a pair of School trousers for her Son.In those days they had a ledge on the Customers side so they could put their baskets on. I was chatting to her about the cost of school uniforms while wrapping the trousers and taking the money from her to pay for them. As she turned to leave 2 Security Men chased after her and 2 Supervisors came by me. They caught her and brought he back to empty the contents of her shopping bag......she had taken quite a few items.!!!! Anyway, I was awarded an M&A gift voucher for having the presence of mind to keep her talking until the Cavalry arrived......I didn't even know she was stealing

Re: Muslim Worker refused to serve M & S Customer with Alcohol
In my opinion, Human Rights are a bane on our society, God how I dislike Cherie Blair for forcing such rubbish into the British legal system, (and making a large personal fortune out of doing so) it wouldn't be so bad but not one of these rights really applies to us. A neighbour of mine, a very old friend died while trying to get compensation for the Asbestosis which actually took his life. His wife had predeceased him so the money rightly owed vanished into the system.
Some people are blessed with bare faced cheek.. An friend of mine used to take his children round supermarkets in a trolley letting them eat packets of crisps while he picked up odd items... His wife did the real shopping using a trolley on her own..

The jobs I've had you wouldn't believe Malena. I was working P/T in a Pub and every morning in the Saloon Bar a few shoplifters used to come in to plan their shoplifting . One of the Women had a blind man as her "partner " and it seemed strange, how could he know what he was stealing I asked?? Ask a silly question ......he was used as the decoy.

I have a picture in my mind of a man with a white stick asking an assistant what it was he was holding because he wanted to steal it.... He'd be no good driving the getaway car.....Panda wrote:malena stool wrote:In my opinion, Human Rights are a bane on our society, God how I dislike Cherie Blair for forcing such rubbish into the British legal system, (and making a large personal fortune out of doing so) it wouldn't be so bad but not one of these rights really applies to us. If it were me or you we would off been sacked and it would never off been heard off.
What i get very annoyed with.....when you work in this school there is no pork served...no beef either....only plain biscuits are given as some have nut allergies.
What I am saying is....why should the rest off the children suffer because off this...

Re: Muslim Worker refused to serve M & S Customer with Alcohol
I think Britain has forfeited it's heritage for cheap labour and kow-towing to the Business World who insist the muslims are essential to our Labour Force.
M & S were wrong to be so lenient , have a religion by all means but it must not intrude on your workplace. A Judge decreed that a Christian Woman could not wear her cross around her neck openly yet what harm was she doing???
The first priority is to educate our children so they can fill the jobs , second is to put a strict limit on immigration unless the person has a job to go to, the Border Control is completely out of it's depth, and the Minister in charge, Theresa May must accept some responsibility because the Conservatives have had enough time to rectify the Labour catastrophic decisions.
