"David Cameron has announced controversial plans for curbs on benefits and a review of EU freedom of movement laws to end ‘vast migrations’ from poorer European countries"
It's a bit late now David! They are already on the bus

Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
I think the sooner we get out of the EU the better, all it's Rules and Regulations are stifling Britain and Cameron showed his weakness by waiting until 2015 for a Referendum. I'm sick of hearing from Business that immigrants are more hard working (probably true) and cheaper to employ . There is a minimum wage for all employees. and I suspect that many small businesses are paying immigrants and illegals less than the minimum wage.

Immigrants are not all hard working. I had a lot of Polish, Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian students. They were pretty much the same as Scottish ones. Some hard working, some as lazy as hell.
I will be appearing in Court in January as a witness for the prosecution in a minor case. Along with the citation they sent me a list of all the people appearing in court that day. About half of the names are of Eastern European origin. That's not being racist. It is stating a fact.

I believe you Iris , around where I live it has changed dramatically , the Muslims are even taking over the Junior school near me so what chance has integration got??? So many Cities are finding that English is a second language and while the EU demands we take immigrants in we will have a bigger problem. There are many immigrants who do valuable work , especially in the NHS but we must be able to choose who we want to live in our Country , not
turn it over to strangers. It would also be helpful if the Border Agency were more efficient.

Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
Nigel Farage wants us to take Syrian refugees. At the risk of sounding uncaring, I don't want them! Farage says refugees are different from economic migrants, but coming from Syria, they will bring their culture, which we have enough of already. I'm sorry refugees, but we have enough Muslims already who want us to understand their cultural needs, their need to build huge mosques and make demands even when they're in prison!
Also, those refugees would have priority need under homelessness legislation and we have plenty of people on our housing waiting lists who will go further down the lists because the refugees would have priority for accommodation. Refugees also have the right to bring their families! So, as long as a man already has a bunch of kids over there, he can bring them all here!
What about your family members?
If you have refugee status, your husband/wife/civil partner and children are covered by your refugee status as well, even if they have just arrived or have not yet sorted out their status, as long as you started your family before your left your home country. So they are all eligible for housing and homelessness services.

Every time I see an advert...I get bloody mad.
Sorry but their are plenty off children in this country that are starving .
Great Ormond street...begging for money....children dying off cancer because their isn't enough money to pay for their treatment.
But their will always be enough money to pay for immigrants to be fed and housed.

Britain is right to refuse to take in the Syrian Refugees. As much as we sympathise with their plight, what about the other EU Countries doing their bit.?
We were the most generous with donations etc and made the big mistake in siding with the US when it started to clean up these Middle East Countries , starting with Libya and free its people from Dictatorship.........has it worked NO. The population of these Countries has to contend with different Political groups fighting it out , their Countries being destroyed and the average population must feel they were better off with their "Dictator". Now political unrest is spreading further , even in Russia !!! Just what monster has Man created.????

Some years ago, I spent a few months working as a homelessness officer for an inner-city housing department. There was a very long waiting list and lots of families in B&B. I had a man and his wife who were under threat of eviction from a school caretaker's cottage because he was ill and couldn't do the job any more. I couldn't even find an empty ground floor flat for that couple.
Then, one morning a family of refugees turned up at the office, with all their possessions. They had taken a bus from an immigration centre in another area and presented with their piece of paper saying they now had indefinite leave to remain. The manager took over the case and by the afternoon, there was a flat for them and they were taken there in a taxi funded by the Housing Department. I was gobsmacked!
Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
The entire refugee/immigrant situation is getting out of hand, I have a nasty feeling that it won't be long before there are events taking place on our streets which will trivialise the riots of 2 years ago.
Hope I'm wrong, but.........

Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
Cameron has it in his power to refuse all immigration NOW, even if the EU says it is illegal. Britain is the second biggest contributor to the EU yet has no say in any decision making. The only reason we get so many immigrants is because English is an International language and Britain is a soft touch for benefits.

'British Bankers Are Worse Than Roma Beggars', Says Damian Draghici, Adviser To Romanian PM
The Huffington Post UK/PA | Posted: 30/12/2013 08:51 GMT | Updated: 30/12/2013 08:52 GMT
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/12/30/bankers-beggars-romanian-immigrants_n_4517714.html
People in Britain should be more concerned about bankers who steal billions than Roma who beg on the streets, an adviser to the Romanian prime minister has said.
Damian Draghici said he expected relatively few Roma would make the journey to the UK when the restrictions on the movement of Romanians and Bulgarians in the EU are lifted on January 1.
"The Roma begging in the streets are obvious because we see them, they ask for one pound or one euro and they bother us. Yet some of the people in the banks are stealing billions of euros but nobody sees them because they are on the 60th floor," he told The Times.
Mr Draghici, who is an adviser on Roma affairs, said the Roma did not like Britain because it was too cold and predicted that only around 2,000 to 3,000 would travel to the UK this winter.
"Seventy percent of Roma that left from Romania in the last 10 years are integrated. They have kids that go to school and they act like active citizens and taxpayers in the places where they are."
Mr Draghici's comments come as a group of senior Tory activists join calls for David Cameron to extend controls on Bulgarians and Romanians entering the UK.
Conservative Grassroots, a network of party members, are the latest to pledge support to an amendment that would prolong the restrictions rather than scrap them on New Year's Day.
The Prime Minister has come under increasing pressure from his own party to take action, following concerns that full access to the UK labour market would prompt a "wave of mass immigration" from Wednesday.
In an open letter they urge Mr Cameron to use a safeguard clause in EU law which they believe could extend controls until 2018 because of 'exceptional economic circumstances'.
The UK imposed the seven-year restrictions on Romania and Bulgaria after they joined the EU in 2007 - only allowing citizens a visa if they were self-employed, had a job offer, or were given a specialist role.
Mr Joshua added that Conservative Grassroots "respectfully disagree" with the Government, which says it is powerless to extend the restrictions.
The Government has said it will be "business as usual" on January 1 at the UK border and it remains unclear if additional staff or measures are being put in place at airports and ferry ports in the event significant numbers arrive.

Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
It seems the notoriety of our banking system and its corrupt operatives is well known across the world, worse than the begging champions of Europe it seems.
Well, perhaps Cameron will do something about the bankers then... They are after all not protected by the Human Rights fiasco agreed upon by the previous administration of Blair, Brown and New Labour!

Why will he not do something???? So spineless.
Also this 'Big Issue' selling con has got to be stopped. They become self employed, hardly sell a copy and immediately they have rights to benefits. No waiting the three months for them.
Even the founder of Big Issue. John Bird has said that he warned the Labour government not to open it's doors to the feral poor but to help them in their own nation. God help us when they start dismantling housing estates for the metal, like they have done at home.

Re: Daily Mail exposes true cost of new wave migrants heading for booming Britain
What a state Britain is in, Due to dishonest Bankers , we have lost our status as honest businessmen. Due to the extraordinary influx of immigrants over the last few years we have driven out the "middle class", our Education system leaves a lot to be desired and we cannot compete with the Chinese and Indian Countries for cheap clothes so have lost all our Mills.
