Trial postponed

I just read on Twitter that the trial has been postponed till Friday, due to the death of Eusebio. Don't know if it's true but it wouldn't surprise me.

This is really annoying. What a farce this has become. How can justice take place with all these postponements. I thought the decision had been made not to hear them. And now the judge is reconsidering.

I also saw that on Twitter, from the UK Justice Forum (sic). There's no proof whatsoever that it's even true. So I am reserving judgement for now.

That's very sensible Iris. I should do the same. It is annoying that the news we get seems to be very censored.

The McCann lawyer lodged an appeal against that decision.
The question is - do the McCanns really want to go through with this, or is it just another delaying tactic ?

It is being said that it is because that Portugal has 3 days of mourning for Eusebio. But the school banks etc are all working normally, so no idea!!

This is unbelievable!!! The charge against Amaral was brought by the McCanns well over 2 years ago , the McCanns had no intention of being there themselves, a few months ago they tried to do a deal with Amaral but he refused,causing 6 months delay in the Trial. When they could see their witnesses hadn't done them any favours they applied to be asistentes, now their Lawyer , the poison Dwarf is at it again, appealing for a delay . If the Judge allows this I will be very disapointed in the Legal system in Portugal.  Rant over.

Panda they haven't applied to be assistentes in this trial at all. You are confusing this with the re-opening of the case in Portugal.

Interesting that he's not telling us WHY it's been adjourned.
That's the first question a journo would ask, so surely he must know.

We've waited five years. Another five days is nothing.

And if it is just a delaying tactic, it just shows how worried the McCanns must be.

How many trials are there? They only applied quickfingers when they could see how ineffectual their Witnesses were .......

As far as I understand they applied to be assistentes in the case so they get to find out what is being investigated, what evidence there is etc. This is since the case has been re-opened in Portugal. It has nothing to do with the trial. Hope that helps.

IF true, i hope it is KM's 'book' of which, i believe, GA did say, "A book that is written by someone who was a suspect may become of use as a document, maybe even a piece of documental evidence. Let us wait."

May be something to do with Madeleine being WOC.

IIRC the defence lawyers were ordered to deliver some financial documents at some point.

Much misreporting again. Amaral's lawyer has asked some pertinent questions regarding Madeleine's 'Ward of Court' status. They've got 10 days to sort it.
Does Justice Hogg even know this is being done in the name of her ward?
Madeleine is still a plaintif.
Bizarre as ever. But it has nothing to with either the McCann's lawyer or Eusebio.

Madeleine is not a plaintiff .



Madeleine is being looked after by the WOC status.

It's as clear as mud quickfingers  In any Court Case you have a Plaintiff and Defendant both will have prepared their case ...how come the Plaintiff can find out in advance what is being investigated? They provided the claim , Amaral has to defend it ....end of story.

Kitti is right, originally the McCanns put Madeleine in their claim but deleted it when they were told Madeleine was a Ward of Court.
