Well they don't look very concerned about the charges against them , seems a lot of potential incriminating evidence might have been "lost"

Rebekah Brooks is due to begin her defence on Wednesday as the phone-hacking trial resumes at the Old Bailey.
The trial, which is expected to last another three months, will resume with the prosecution formally wrapping up its case in the morning with the former chief executive of News International the first of seven defendants to go into the witness box.
Brooks, who ran News International until July 2011 when the News of the World closed and had previously edited both the Sunday tabloid and the Sun, is facing five charges.
She denies conspiracy to illegally intercept voicemail messages on mobile phones, conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office by authorising illegal payments to public officials, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Once the defence case starts she will have the opportunity to call on her own witnesses to help fight her case.
The long-running trial started on 28 October and centres on allegations of phone hacking at the News of the World started.
The jury has already been told by Mr Justice Saunders, who is presiding over the case, that the "worst-case scenario" is that they will not be asked to consider their verdict until mid-May.
Other defendants include Brooks's husband Charlie, who it is alleged conspired to hide computers behind a bin in the car park at their Chelsea home on the day of her arrest. He denies the charge.
The remaining defendants are all former News International employees, including Andy Coulson, David Cameron's former spin doctor; Stuart Kuttner, the former managing editor of the News of the World; Clive Goodman, the paper's former royal editor; Mark Hanna the head of security for News International; and Cheryl Carter, Brooks's former PA.
All five have denied the charges and will be given an opportunity to go into the witness box to state their case.

Tony Blair advised Rebekah Brooks on phone-hacking scandal, court hears
Former prime minister suggested setting up 'Hutton style' inquiry, according to email from former News International chief
Tony Blair advised Rebekah Brooks to launch a "Hutton style" inquiry into phone hacking at the News of the World at the height of the scandal over the issue, according to an email that has emerged at the Old Bailey trial.
The revelation emerged in an email that was read to the jury in the hacking trial on Wednesday, and followed what Brooks said was an hour-long phone call.
According to the email, sent the day after the News of the World's final issue and six days before Brooks was arrested, Blair also told her he was "available" to her and Rupert and James Murdoch as an "unofficial adviser" on a "between us" basis.
The advice was said to have been given on 11 July 2011 and contained in an email she sent at 4.20pm to James Murdoch, the then executive chairman of News International.
According to Brooks's note, Blair advised her to set up an "independent" inquiry, suggesting it could have "outside counsel, Ken Macdonald [the former director of public prosecutions], a great and good type".
He said the inquiry would be "Hutton style" – a reference to Lord Hutton's inquiry into the death of David Kelly – and would "clear" her, but warned that "shortcomings" would have to be accepted as a result of the report.
According to the email the advice was given in an hour-long phone conversation. Blair advised her to "tough up" and not to make any "rash short-term solutions as they only give you long-term headaches." He also told her to "keep strong" and advised her to take "sleeping pills".
Prosecutor Andrew Edis read out the entire email exchange between Brooks and James Murdoch to the jury as part of the formal conclusion of the Crown's case.
After finishing in the email he turned to the jury to simply say "Well, that's that" before moving on to the next piece of evidence.
Brooks told James Murdoch in the email: "I had an hour on the phone to Tony Blair" and then proceeded to outline the points he had allegedly made in the conversation.
"1. Form an independent unit that has an outside junior counsel, Ken Macdonald, a great and good type, a serious forensic criminal barrister, internal counsel, proper fact checkers etc in it. Get them to investigate me and others and publish a Hutton style report," she said.
"2. Publish part one of the report at same time as the police closes its inquiry and clear you and accept short comings and new solutions and process and part two when any trials are over.
"3. Keep strong and definitely sleeping pills. Need to have clear heads and remember no rash short term solutions as they only give you long term headaches.
"4. It will pass. Tough up.
"5. He is available for you, KRM [Rupert Murdoch] and me as an unofficial adviser but needs to be between us," she wrote.

Tony Blair has to be one of the most corrupt Politicians this Century. He ordered a D Notice years ago on the Sunday Herald investigation into homosexuality in Parliament , has raked money in since his retirement and has the nerve to advise Brooks on how to avoid being charged with corruption and phone hacking.

The news today reinforces/supports my view that he and Brown were/are involved in the Madeleine McCann case and that the current investigation will not end with justice for Madeleine.

I wouldn't be surprised interested, there seems to be no appetite to really investigate and after all these years I think the Portugese should set a time limit for closing the case, they have spent enough already and SY are just time wasting.

Tony Blair won't like this but what was he doing advising Brooks anyway, she would have access to the best Legal minds in the U.K. paid for by the Murdochs. I think she is appearing in Court today , be interesting to see what she has to say.

An email has just been read out – detonated would be a better phrase – from the phone hacking trial. It appears to suggest that Tony Blair was advising Rebekah Brooks and Rupert Murdoch on how to deal with the firestorm engulfing them.
For obvious reasons it isn’t possible to go into the implications for that case, which is ongoing. Ms Brooks denies all charges.
But the message carries a politically explosive phrase. Brooks claims Blair advised her to set up a quote “Hutton style” inquiry to assist in responding to the allegations facing News International.
The precise wording is:
1. Form an independent unit that has an outside junior counsel, Ken Macdonald, a great and good type, a serious forensic criminal barrister, internal counsel, proper fact checkers etc in it. Get them to investigate me and others and publish a Hutton style report.
2. Publish part one of the report at same time as the police closes its inquiry and clear you and accept short comings and new solutions and process and part two when any trials are over.
The email, from Brooks to James Murdoch, concludes “He is available for you, KRM [Rupert Murdoch] and me as an unofficial adviser but needs to be between us.
A lot of people within the Labour party are already asking why Blair was apparently advising Brooks at a time when Labour and Ed Miliband were trying to get to the bottom of the phone hacking affair. But to be honest, that’s a side issue.
What’s so damning is the way Blair appears to view the Hutton inquiry as an appropriate model. Blair’s explanation might be that the “Hutton” reference reflects Brooks's interpretation rather than his own. But the reference to “outside junior counsel, Ken Macdonald, a great and good type, a serious forensic criminal barrister, internal counsel, proper fact checkers etc” is basically the Hutton model word for word.
Of course many of us always thought Hutton was a whitewash. But it was a supposedly independent inquiry into a man’s death. Careers were ruined over it. As I coincidentally happened to write earlier today, the BBC and the government were plunged into open warfare over the affair. And yet the Prime Minister of that time appears to have recommended it to one of his close friends as a useful model in time of need.
Tony Blair is now facing his own firestorm. And deservedly so.

I find it a damning coincidence that Brookes knows and worked with: Andy Coulson, Glenn Mulcaire, Greg Miskiw, Tony Blair, Alastair Campbell and Rupert Murdoch. All have been involved in some way with the 'hacking scandal'.
As my old granny used to say, "There's no smoke without fire".

malena, there is no way Brooks can say she was not involved......in such a Senior position she would know what was going on , why try to get rid of evidence if she had nothing to hide. ? All I hope is that justice is seen to be done.
