U.K. Police fly to Portugal Sky News
http://news.sky.com/story/1202667/madeleine-mccann-uk-police-fly-to-portugal
Different photos of Madeleine but the same glum one of Kate and Gerry holding up the projected image of Madeleine as she would look now.
As I write, Redwood being interviewed says SY are wholly committed to finding Madeleine .

'there's a small team of Portuguese police working in the Algarve on behalf of Scotland Yard.'
I presume they mean OPORTO.....thought they were not sharing information?

Re: U.K. Police fly to Portugal Sky News
You have to ask yourself..why are the mccanns dismissing the burglar scenario.
Why are SY going WITH it.
SY have always said that Madeleine is alive.
The mccanns have said Madeleine is alive.
But with the burglar scenario she CANT be alive.
Burglars can't sell a child they have snatched like they sell jewellery...so where is Madeleine if burglars snatched her.
So, why are SY going with the burglar scenario when the burglars have obviously disposed off Madeleine on that night or the next day, SY can't say she's alive then, can they.

Morning kitti, obviously the Press can't opinionate because they would be sued for Libel, but Joe Public can say what they think and although Forum Members know a lot more than the Public, I would say the Public are fed up with this ongoing saga and taxpayers money has been used in this manner. Didn't Redwood's Bosses question his request for the letters, why have the PJ agreed? Are the 3 burglars a decoy for the real person SY want to interview ....that's a thought.!!!

Re: U.K. Police fly to Portugal Sky News
I don't believe there are three burglars, I believe there are three witnesses who might be able to provide some useful information.
If I were writing this script as a spy movie, those photographs as published would have been a decoy, whilst the real detectives were elsewhere doing what really needed to be done. All too public and staged looking for me.
I'm still holding out hope and I still believe in Redwood. We know this case is complicated but what we often forget is that I'm sure it is a legal minefield. If they are intent on solving this, indeed if they have all but solved it, legally they are going to have a huge project to ensure things are done correctly.
It is possible those responsible are in a different country to where the crime was committed. Two different police forces working on the crime. That is not usual, it is quite unknown to these officers I'm sure. The last thing they want is some clever brief getting his clients off on some European arrest technicality or whatever it might be.
There will be no second chance for either side in this, so they need to be sure the paperwork is correct because the evidence will and does speak for itself.

Re: U.K. Police fly to Portugal Sky News
Why would four of SY's top brass including AR feel it necessary to
chase after three burglars?
I think something big is going on.

Hardly that - Redwood is only a Chief Inspector, not very high up in the hierarchy.

Jeez Panda, those burglars have been "caught" because of their phone use that night. Those files are the lists of phone pings between the three of them between 9 and 10 pm. Sky said the use of the phones was "prolific". Those files prove it.
Oh and 101 must see and do things whilst in Portugal.

Yet is isn't 'prolific' that the McCanns sat and deleted all their 'phone calls, messages etc. the night that Madeleine was abducted?

Hi mossman, I'm laughing, but not really, if you know what I mean.
Yes, it is only the pings, no conversation. Well, you never know, 6 years down the line the Burglers might still have the same mobiles . It's a good job i am off to Lanzarote tonight, I will come back refreshed and hopeful that Amaral has won his case, , still no Trial date though . Sky just announced the McCanns do not want to comment on this latest information.....I wonder why!!!

Thanks mossman , I stayed at this Hotel last year , couldn't fault it , entertainment every night. The best I saw though was a Drag Artist Show in a Pub a few miles away. The Woman who mimed to Tina Turner's 'Simply the Best' was about 70 , 5 ft tall, the enormous wig , beautiful sequined dress , brought the house down .

Hi fred, good point, the more we know the more we have to wonder WHY the McCanns escaped justice, it's not ineptitude entirely , it's a coverup for some reason.

Those are two different teams. The Algarve team is dealing with the requests of the letters sent by UK authorities.
Re: U.K. Police fly to Portugal Sky News
That's right. These Portuguese policemen are nothing to do withh the Oporto Team which is working away separately under its own steam. These are the half dozen policemen given to work with SY (after a much earlier letter of request) to interview people on the Met's behalf, allowing them to sit in on the interviews and provide the questions.
