There are several comments, all suggesting Britain opt out so the poll result is misleading.

The only people that want us to stay in are business's .
They like employing cheap labour and it makes them LOADS off money.

I don't believe this poll. Maybe it is something to do with the way the question is asked!!

I too find it hard to believe, they probably only polled Big Business, not the general population

It seems they separated Labour voters from Conservatives and according to the labour one, only 9% voted to withdraw. Load of rubbish I think Panda

I really think its useless to have a pol of any type.i don't think many folk really know enough about it to warrant saying yes or no ,I don't and no one I speak to takes little notice of it ataall.A lot would only be able to have an answer on the little we seem to be fed ,by all parties I think we should do waway with all parties and have the best in country to form one big party ,and maybe we might do away with the backbiting that goes on , and just maybe we could all have enough truth in order to know what would be best ,oh well that's my step onto the soap box I shrink what others will make of such a post joyce1938

The thing is fuzeat , none of the Politicans are firm enough to make a stand against what is going on in the EU, it is not a trading partnership, it has become a Dictatorship, aren't our MEP's supposed to be working for British interests? I watched a Documentary a few months ago and therei are two huge Buildings housing MEP's and EU Leaders etc. and the cost is astronomical ..........yet Maggie Thatcher was the only PM that the EU bowed to and gave Britain a rebate.

Hi Joyce1938 , these debates , one tonight by the way on sky do not tell us much and I think it is non Politicians who should enlighten us as to what exactly the EU is about and the 6 month rotating Country which takes over is a bit of a sop, what can a new Country do in 6 months to change policy?
We definitely need to be informed by several debates with Businessmen, Lawyers and MEP,s before casting our vote, if we ever get one!!!

I honestly do not need to be any more informed Panda. I just look around and see for myself what the EU has done to us. I don't like it! Our problem is we take on every rule to the letter. Whilst other countries find some way of ignoring them or bending them to suit the way they have always been.

Morning fuzeta, I agree, Cameron doesn't want us to leave so will be in no hurry to have a referendum should he win the next Election. Britain would survive leaving the EU and be financially much better off not having to contribute so much and pay MEP's exhorbitant Salaries and expenses for doing nothing to fight Britains Corner.

Re: A recent Poll on whether Britain should stay in the EU
I saw programn on tv last night and one or two people declared that , we have a lot of people that would loose their jobs if we do go the nNO route,i would like all the answers to really decide what could be best for us all. Yes we do seem to be a country that the polaticians appear to want to follow ,or could I dare say ,for their sake ? not all of us ? The judges seem to blame their problems also on rules from afar,i don't believe that only us are expected to do as told really. Ithink lsome high ups want to follow when it suits their agenda ,judges do some atrocious discitions when letting appauling people off lightly doing, the most heinas crimes .I had better not speak of which crimes get this easy and light outcomes ,I can bareley read it and not feel sick .joyce1938

Morning joyce1938, The sooner Britain takes back it's right to Govern it's own Country the better. We need strong leadership , which is nowhere in sight and there will be a long running battle with the EU to try to stop us leaving and will threaten legal action etc. The British judiciary need to learn to let the
punishment fit the crime and the crime rate reduced.
As i speak, Cameron is in Devon celebrating the Dawlish train connection re-opening after the flood , I never noticed his going there to see the flood damage ,
