Maddie anniversary brings shock new revelations - Portugal Resident

I can't imagine that the residents of PDL have any sympathy with the McCanns. They must be sick to the back teeth of all the media hype and circus every time an anniversary comes round.

You just have to read the words of the McCanns' lawyer, Isabel Duarte, to know what people in Portugal feel about her clients. she was the one of said that everybody was against her for defending them...

I am probably wrong but thought the Hubbards went back to Canada a while ago , didn't the McCanns meet up with them when they went to Canada a couple of years ago with the twins?

As for Duarte , she hung on to Amaral's books after the injunction was lifted until forced to return them by the Court so I quite understand why she is not very popular.LOL

I would have thought the residents of PDL would have written to the British Press asking whether the British Public realise how their lives have been turned upside down by the McCanns who they really felt sorry for initially. I think the British Press would print it.!!!

Regarding the comment that the McCanns would be made welcome, I am reminded of an earlier topic "Residents of Luz hit back". It's well worth another read at this time. No sign of any of the other Tapas on the guest list, they are not travelling ?  Interesting the distancing over the years.  Grief unites people very often.   Look at Hillsborough - people who had no direct ties with the 96 still to this day share a bond.  Yet the Tapas, who had a direct connection with the McCanns loss have disappeared.

If the McCanns had any respect for Portugal they would stay away and leave their people in peace.  At this time of the year, descending yet again on Luz, shows no regard for the people or their much needed tourism industry.

I know the residents of Praia da Luz, can't stand the McCanns and who can blame them. However I'm comforted to know that the dislike of the McCanns is spread across Portugal along with Spain.

I'm happy to be proved wrong, so thank you to those who have proved me wrong. Like others, I just wish the McCanns would crawl into the nearest gutter and stay there.

Also if Goncalo Amaral's book, is now on sale in High St. book stores, can someone give me the name of a book store where the book is sold. I would love to be able to give my friend the name of the book store, then she can ask her Portuguese friend to buy it on her behalf. The last time her friend tried to purchase the book was around 12 months ago in book shops in and around the Lisbon area.
