Can someone tell me please...?

Where the link/story is to the PJ wanting to test the twins hair and the McCanns refusing.
Was this a real fact or just hearsay?

I want to send it to my brother as we were discussing the case (and debating it) and he said if it were true then that fact would be very interesting...

You admitted the possibility that the children had been given sedatives.

The twins, with the lights on, with the lights off, with a crowd of people going in and out, slept until 2 a.m., when they were carried into another apartment. Even then, they continued to sleep. That sleep is not normal.

But the Judiciária did nothing.

Once again, we were inhibited. We thought about asking the parents to test their hair, in order to understand whether there were sedatives, but as soon as it was found out, it would be said that we were suspecting the parents, and it was being avoided at all costs that it became public that those suspicions existed.

Eddie, tell your brother this, it is on record that Kate kept putting her hand in front of the twins mouths to check their breathing. Being a doctor,why would she do this? If an abductor had been in their bedroom and made off with their sister, wouldn't it be normal to insist on getting the twins checked over to make sure they had not been harmed in some way? I know I would.

I found this on the Joana Morais blog. Will do a bit more fishing around and see if there is anything else.

The McCanns, both doctors, refused urine tests for their two-year-old twins, although they later admitted that the children "could have been drugged by the abductor". The parents then waited for five months before engaging an agency to carry out "independent" tests. Incidentally, I remembered after I had posted it that it was attributed to Tony Bennett, so perhaps he would have some further info on it.

They cant disclose something that hasnt happened. Like the lie detector test that never happened because they couldnt get anyone who could verify that they would pass 100%. Its easy to say tests have been done but they cant prove it.

Was the question put to the McCanns directly though? I wanted to show my brother a hard fact (like one of the 48 questions Kate refused). If the PJ asked them I wanted to see proof of this.

I can't seem to find any though..

edit: I followed StG's link and GA says that the PJ didn't actually ask the McCanns to test the twin's hair....so this proves nothing then. I thought that the McC's were asked and refused??

This is odd as I thought the press had said they asked them and Gerry refused but this could have been after Amaral was off the case but if its to be found somewhere it will be in the case files...

I'll try and look for it but I wouldnt trust the press on this....

But I also think...and this is my own opinion that if Gerry did get Kate tested then they knew it was coming or she wouldnt have made such a big deal about the tests in the press....

Yes true..
I really thought that this was a fact - I cannot use this in an argument to my brother as he only deals in facts....he says he believes the dogs anyway.
