US Dad 'On Run After Shooting Wife And Kids'

Police are chasing a gunman suspected of slaying four children and his newly-wed wife.

Davon Crawford is believed to have shot dead children aged three to 14 in the house he shared on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio.

A fifth child is being treated in hospital after what the state authorities are calling the most horrific gun incident in years.

Police sent out a helicopter to look for the 33-year-old while officers on the ground searched buses.

Crawford's father-in-law said his newly-married daughter sent him an unusual text message which said: "Call me, live your life, love it."

He said he then tried to call her about 12 times but there was no answer.

Mrs Crawford lived with her three children, her sister, and her sister's twin children.

Police said there were two rental units in the house and all the victims were killed in the upstairs apartment where they lived.

Police chief Michael McGrath said: "This is bad. I mean, anytime you shoot children, it's bad. When children have to die, it's terrible.

"It's probably one of the worst multiple shootings that I've seen in a long time. I've seen a lot of previous ones, but this ranks right up there at the top," he said.

Crawford's cousin India Cobb said she saw him the day before the shootings and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"It didn't seem anything was wrong or anything like that," Ms Cobb said.

"He just got married... He just had a baby girl. I don't understand what went wrong. I don't know what happened. I'm still trying to find out myself."

Nearby the house a woman was overheard by a reporter from the Plain Dealer newspaper sobbing into a mobile phone: "My sister's dead. My sister's dead. They are all dead."

Oh my God, this is awful...just awful.
I hope they find this PIG and he bloody rots in HELL!

I agree! i hate reading these stories,i get so upset and frustrated..poor children.

and Lu at the end we saw a justice system that are not woeking to help the children rights

with a good lawyer, this man will have a light sentence saying that "i am crazy!

I'm confused about the facts here. Did this idiot kill his own wife and children or someone elses wife and children?

Hi Mstaken. I think it is just reported saying that he killed four children (and his wife). His wife's sister lived with her so it may be that one or two of the children may have been the sisters....

I will go and look for an update.
