Never going to happen. It will, as usual, be against EU rules and the UK will be penalised.

Of course not...but then we would always pay it like the stupid country we are. Everyone else breaks the rules and gets away with it.

I agree Angelina, but Cameron will be like this for the next few months to improve his chances of winning the Election , promises, promises, yet will not hold a Referendum UNLESS hhe is elected.!!!

Hi fuzeta, with Britain being the second highest Contributor , Germany is first, the EU will not want to lose us and will wave all kinds of writs and threats at us to stop us leaving. Cameron knows this and will need excellent Lawyers to wade through the Treaties Britain has signed ....without first consulting the Public .!!!

Good morning Panda
It depends on what criteria are used to calculate this (guesstimate would be a better way of putting it) In terms of how much we contribute, taken as a straight question we are fifth in the league table. In terms of what we get back in what are supposed to be grants from the EU, and is actually just a little of our own money back. We are in pole position. We are the biggest nett contributor. There are 11 countries who pay in more than they get out, and those 11 make sure like Germany that they get much of it back. There are 16 countries who are nett receivers of EU moneys, and the real question which has to be asked is how long can we go on improving everyone else' infrastructure, not to mention their industrial base beggaring ourselves to do it
Cameron chooses his words very carefully on the subject of the EU. All these new measures are vague to say the least; deliberately so in my opinion. There are 27 countries whose citizens have the right to come here, and either work or claim benefit. To change that would need the agreement of at least a majority in the remaining 26, and bearing in mind we are in a manner of speaking outnumbered, that is not going to happen.
As for people outside the EU, that is a very complex question, there are so many let out's and sub clauses, it's virtually impossible to be definitive. besides which we are among the easiest of countries to get into, with bogus colleges, asylum claims involving children, claims to be under age, and therefore vulnerable. claims of being hunted down and killed in their own countries sham marriages etc. etc. Cameron is just using popular fears for votes.

Katertaif, the EU is falling apart and it is the illegals from the Middle East , not European Countries that is so harmful for Britain . A while ago when the financial problems in the EU started, I read Germany had printed the Deutchemark and there was talk of an alliance between the Northern Countries, Germany, Finland, Sweden etc. Now, with the Russian embargo on the EU this raises more questions than we have answers for.

Exactly so kitti, exactly so. What is remarkable is the number of reasons they think up for getting in here in the first place. what this government needs to realise, although it's already very probably too late. is why people flock here in the first place. We are told they don't qualify for benefits, they don't qualify for housing, they are absolutely not entitled to free medical care. So if they are in fact going to live on the streets, starving or begging without two pence to rub together, then there has to be some pressing and urgent reason for them coming. That is only common sense. The only answer that makes any kind of sense is the apologists are wrong, and they can claim benefits, get medical treatment etc.
I say it is already very probably too late, because the demographic make up of the country is already beyond the point of no return. Europe is in the same boat, and although it will take longer for it to be felt so is N. America and Canada. Britain, and the rest of Europe will be a very different place in 25 years. I doubt if the EU will still exist.

A while ago Kitti I was in Boots the Chemist waiting for a prescription and the Muslim Woman at the Counter picked up the BIGGEST bag of
prescription items.!!!!!!!! Where is the Governance of Britain by MPs. that brought us to this chaos.? A T.V. Documentary I watched recently suggested immigrants were very valuable at one time which resulted in very little control , no one thought about the impact several years down the line when Britain has a housing shortage and mass unemployment.

Re: Cameron declares EU Immigrants benefits to be cut from 6 months to 3 months
Enoch Powell thought about it Panda, but too late. he was the first minister responsible for allowing large numbers of mainly West Indians into the country. The reasoning which was sound enough at the time (although there were other alternatives) was that we had been bled white in two world wars, not least in terms of manpower. We had lost so many.
He realised shortly afterwards what the end result of this open door policy must be. Sixty or so years later, it's obvious to all. Even a complete moratorium wouldn't do more than delay things for a few years.

I remember the famous ""rivers of blood" speech . The problem was, no one recognised the danger until it was too late. The Border Agency is a joke but has not been sacked and replaced by Soldiers who have done service in the Middle East and have now been made redundant. It's like the Home Office is sleepwalking into this crisis. I lived in Jersey for several years and on my last visit one my Friends told me Jersey has adopted a stringent policy because it is a small island . You can't get a job without a Visa, Police make snap checks on job sites and Employers heavily fined if they employ any illegals. A patrol around the Island at night by boat to look for anything suspicious.

Re: Cameron declares EU Immigrants benefits to be cut from 6 months to 3 months
The "rivers of blood" speech has ben misquoted time out of number. Powell himself always denied he had made any such speech. In ancient Rome, heavy rains would cause the river banks above Rome to wash down. Those banks were made of red clay. heavy enough rainfalls would cause enough red mud to mix with the Tiber river to make it "flow red as with much blood" It was supposed by the Romans of the day to be the forerunner of some great misfortune. When Powell said "I seem to see the river flowing red as with much blood, that is what he meant. A great disaster was about to befall. he meant the demographic change of the country. He wasn't referring to fighting in the streets although we have had some of that.

When you think of the service of rememberance held the other day it makes you wonder what those young men and women who gave their lives to protect Britain would make of Britain today.

Yes you are right Katertaif this was his meaning, warning of the consequences that now seem to befall us. I met Enoch Powell on a number of occasions and he was indeed a quiet, gentle very gracious man. Also one of the most intelligent men I have ever met. I really liked him and he has been much maligned. A great injustice.

Yes Panda
I believe the young and not so young men and women who gave their lives to protect what they held nearest and dearest, would be shocked and disgusted by what has happened in a bare lifetime. You only have to ask the question, could we do now, what we did then. I believe the answer is no we could not.
Our politicians have ever increasingly given the country away, on a number of fronts. not only the demographic one. They even seem unaware that since they are our law makers, and some 80% of our laws now come form the EU in one form or another,, they themselves are 80% redundant. That of course never gets any kind of mention.
So no Panda I agree with you, I only wish I didn't. I'm sure you wish you didn't either.

Good evening fuzeta.
As you say, a great injustice but Enoch's mistake was being politically incorrect. original thought is no longer a requirement in Parliament today. Being politically correct excuses virtually anything today, from childish behaviour at PMQ's to fiddling expenses.

You cannot get a job now either doing car valeting or window cleaning or building work....that's a foreign mans job now...ask my son....when he sends a cv they never reply and it's because he is British, British men can't work for a minimum wage, it's impossible but a foreign person can.
They are doing major building work near me, the men are all off non British nationality, why, because the contractors pay them a pittance and they sleep in their vans in car parks near me.
I feel so sorry for my son, he done a free day at a car valeting place and the boss asked how much he wanted, my son worked from 7am till 7pm and said £50 a day, when you work it out it's less than £5 an hour ..you know what the boss said, I was thinking £30 a day and then went on to say, I can get 2 polish men for £40 a day!!!!
That is why British people can't get jobs ....because businesses can treat polish people like shit and cheaply and there laughing there head off and that's why they want US to stay in the EU...cheap rotten labour.

Yes kitti, I'm afraid I have to agree with you in most of what you say I only wish I didn't as I'm sure you do.
We have been sold down the river in so many respects that it would be almost impossible to list them all in one post it would be book length.
Even working for a pittance as you say, and sleeping rough in conditions we would refuse, they are in many cases better off than they would be back home. that is where they are sending their money, and eventually they will have a house, with nice garden and a 42" TV etc etc. courtesy of the EU. Meanwhile free medical care is provided as well. It happens at the worker end of the scale right up to government level with them joining purely and simply for what they can get
That they are in effect killing the Golden Goose, is no concern of theirs. I had a similar discussion with a friend who pointed out that in Saudi and Oman etc we were also sending our money home every month just as they are now. I agreed with him but pointed out that those countries also sell us their oil and gas, the nooks balance. In our case we don't have any such balance. As I say from individual worker to government level, it's all one way traffic.
