Have you talked to your doctor about it? I think you might be the first 54 year old I know still having them although I take it if some women have early menopauses others could have late menopauses.
Re: Ladies Only :0
I don´t think it is so unusual Iris, I believe many ladies still have periods into their late 50s. However as Claudia says, a word with your doctor would put your mind at rest.

I'm usually good with dates affecting me - and you'd think this would be something I'd have put the flags out about! - but I can't remember exactly.
Somewhere between 50 and 55 is all I can say.

Re: Ladies Only :0
b.t.w I worked with a lady who was still having periods age 56.
the best book I read is this one.......
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Menopause-Positive-Approach-Rosetta-Reitz/dp/0140051201/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406978613&sr=8-1&keywords=rosetta+reitz
Written in the 7o's but reprinted, one tip is to write down dates + 'normal', 'spotting', 'heavy' etc . it is helpful to look back on. I still have my list, a few scanty periods and then stopped abruptly...crashed into it really. Full of good advice re diet, quite feminist but that's no bad thing.
Also Leslie Kenton 'Passage to Power' although she is a little new age/hippyish in some of her views, not really pro mammogrammes and such like.

I guess I will just have to grin and bear it then :(
Perhaps I should get pregnant again just to embarrass my teenagers!
