We all realise this but do nothing about it
We all realise this but do nothing about it
Someone please tell me what the Hell is wrong with all of the people that are running this country!!!
LABOUR, CONSERVATIVES & LIBERALS,
ALL say We're "broke" and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless, etc.,
In the past few years we have provided direct cash [£] aid to:
£M
Congo 359
Egypt 397
Ethiopia 981
Haiti 1400
Hamas 351
Iraq 1080
Jordan 463
Kazakhstan 304
Kenya 816
Libya 1450
Mexico 622
Mozambique 404
Nigeria 456
Pakistan 2000
Russia 380
Senegal 698
South Africa 566
Sudan 870
Tanzania 554
Uganda 451
Zambia 331
TOTAL £14,933,000,000.00
Giving them a total of literally £14,933 Billions of Pounds - and the majority of them still hate us !!!
Our retired seniors - living on a 'fixed income'
Do they get any breaks ???
While our government and religious organisations pour Hundreds of Billions of Pounds and Tons of Food to a vast list of Foreign Countries!
We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.
In the UK ---- where we have
Homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medication or fuel to heat their homes
And mentally ill without treatment ... etc.
YET. .. .
We still allow illegal "Deprived People" & other free loaders on our shores. While we are lining up to give them food, clothes, bedding, doctors, medical supplies and whatever else they need.
Can you Imagine what it would be like if "OUR GOVERNMENT" gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.
Sad isn't it!

And a little boy was told they could do nothing more for him unless......they had £90,000 to save his life using Proton.

Kitti, we can provide a 5 bedroom house with Rent paid by the DHSS, yet charge a couple for the spare room they have.!!!!! The NHS is in dire straits yet newcomers can use all the facilities free. The Border Agency hasn't a clue how many illegals there are .....who is going to be the kind of Leader we need to start getting tough ????

Shouldn't this be a politics thread rather than Daily News?

I received an e-mail from a friend who maybe had received it from another friend, and think the information was researched and the figures not plucked from thin air. I forgot about the Politics thread to be honest , was tempted to put it in the U.K. thread but thought there would be looking, but not much response here.

In the UK ---- where we have
Homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medication or fuel to heat their homes
And mentally ill without treatment ... etc.
Really? Doesn't sound like the Britain that I know. My sister works for St. Basils, a charity for the homeless who tirelessly put homeless youngsters into accommodations and she tells me how many of them trash these rooms and how many of them have drug/gambling/drink habits which affects their mental health.
Children going to bed hungry - I know of a young girl with a baby who walked out on her boyfriend and the house they were renting because it was more beneficial financially to be a single mother, who has since had three council high rise flats rather than work hard with her boyfriend to live in the house they were renting with its sizeable garden. And she is regularly seen catching taxis from the supermarket and her little boy has told his grandparents (on the dad's side of the family), who cook him proper home cooked dinners, that all mommy gives him is McDonalds (which is costly) or sausages. Oh and she now has another baby on the way with her new boyfriend; a perfectly timed pregnancy so that she avoids going out to work, as her eldest little boy starts school this Wednesday coming. And despite being home all day she never does housework that you would particularly notice.
Elderly going without needed medication - my ageing parents and my ageing mum in law have medication coming out of their ears delivered by the chemist to their front doors.
Elderly going without fuel to heat their homes - £200/£300 per person each winter heating allowance (depending on age) plus additional severe cold weather payments, none of it means tested - why even ex pats in Spain and Portugal etc receive these payments. My friend's mom (when she was alive) used to send her heating allowance to her hard up son in Canada.
Mentally ill without treatment - not at all; there are mental health trusts in all areas of the UK but many are cared for in the community, like a scizophrenic neighbour of mine who is absolutely harmless actually albeit he puts his own life in danger by walking to 24-hour Asda in the early hours of the morning or by taking his dog for a walk at 2am - but if he was stuck in a home he wouldn't have his dog or the freedom to walk to Asda when he pleases. He's 70 or 71 now and even helps some of the elderly who live by him by running errands for them.
Still, it seems like running Britain down is a habit most people have nowadays.

"Still, it seems like running Britain down is a habit most people have nowadays."
Some people are only happy when they have something to moan about.Really better to go out for a walk or maybe do something useful for the community, like maybe volunteer to pick up all that dog shit and litter down on the white rec.
We all know about the welfare scroungers and pregnant underage girls with free council flats, and 'Muslims' with 30 kids and living in luxury at tax payers expense. And that great big fat bloke up in Bradford who can hardly get out of bed unless the council send round their meals on wheels butler and a packet of Rothmans.
So how come we can afford to look after all these low lifes and give £15 trillion away to third World countries where children live on one grain of rice per month.
There was me thinking this country was broke !
Actually the UK foreign aid budget is around £8.5 Bn per annum.Cameron was very proud to announce last year having exceeded that by another £2.5 Bn or there abouts.
Represents about 0.7% of GNP so not much really when you consider what they waste on some other things.
Personally i dont have a problem sending my £25 (as a taxpayer) per annum if it helps to save some starving child somewhere.
Cue the manic depressives response ?
Probably ISIS or whatever they are calling themselves will blow us all to Kingdom come shortly (unless that Meteorite gets us first) so why are we worried about sending money abroad anyway.

Panda, where do you get these figures from?
This should be in the section for manic depressives who need their daily fix.

I admit some of the comments are OTT in the article but since you are so scathing of anyone who reads it.......why are you? ???

There's a little girl near where I live, not quite sure what is wrong but I know she can't stand up or do anything much and she's a lovely little girl, very pretty. Her parents are trying to raise £10,000 for a special wheelchair...there's no money available from our Gvt for it. Why doesn't she get any aid?

Re: We all realise this but do nothing about it
Parents have to watch their children die through lack off funds in this country ...but they can get it abroad for £200,000.
I watched a programme where a man couldn't have life saving surgery because the NHS decided that he could die on the operating theatre during surgery so they didn't want to waste the money on him.
He could at any moment have an aneurism BUT surgery before he had that would save his life.
He sold his house and people in his village set up a fund for him to have an op...in this country....
So the NHS refused him but he could get it privately if he payed...bloody disgrace...

But what if i showed you a picture of a little Biafra baby who had flies crawling over her head and one day to live and a pot belly stomach through starvation and said to you £25 will save her life and give her food for a year.
I know you would give £25 then to keep that little Biafran baby alive,i think all of us on here would except one or two that is.
