Re: Hong Kong demonstrations....China warns U.K. not to interfere
This demonstration is probably the biggest so far and maybe China has gone too far this time. When Hongkong was handed back to the
Chinese by the British it was well ordered profitable colony. The Chinese Government agrees with the Election, but the candidates must be from their choice.!!! This is the reason for the demonstration , at the moment it is peaceful but will it be another Tienemen Square ???

It looks as if the Midnight ultimatum will pass without bloodshed. The Students have been very careful not to antagonise the Police and their Governor has politely turned down the Chinese proposal to bring in their own Government Officials.

China stops U.K. Ministers entering Hong Kong
http://news.sky.com/story/1383370/hong-kong-tensions-soar-after-fresh-clashes
I can't see the U.K. retaliating China is too powerful a Country . The UN will not interfere so it looks as if those brave young people who protested will not succeed , pity.

Chinaa warns the U.K. to stay out of it's affairs.

On reflection the U.K. was a bit naive to expect a Government like China to allow any democracy in Hong Kong , the hand-over seems to have not taken into account Chinese dictatorship.

Re: Hong Kong demonstrations....China warns U.K. not to interfere
Hello Panda we did not have a choice about handing over Hong Kong to the Chinese, the lease was up so to speak. I am sure we all knew what would happen. Yes we should keep well out of it.

Hi fuzeta, when you watch the violence and know that the Chinese do not understand the word freedom of speech , you have to admire the young in Hong Kong for trying to stop China imposing rules and regulations with an iron fist as they do to their own . Hong Kong is a small Country , doing welll with Foreign business, why should China interfere in a system that has worked well all these years. ???
