I see France and Germany are to get a rebate!!! the EU is taking more from us because we have done well. Never mind the need in Britain to find more money to keep the NHS afloat, to increase the minimum wage etc. The sooner we get out the better , it was too much for the EU to expect 28 Countries to be on a par, it should have just been a Trade agreement as Ted Heath led us to believe it was.

Morning Angelina ....I don't think it will be that easy according to the pundits. we were hoodwinked by being told it was a "Common Market" and not savvy enough to realise what the subsequent treaties our PM's signed up to. Britain has no sway in the EU, it was Maggie Thatcher who battled for our rebate and because she was an Economist understood the accounts. I say get out now and hang the consequences, but Cameron is not brave enough., but he knows if he agrees to this increase he can say goodbye to winning the Election next year.

European Banks in trouble
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29777589
Several Countries borrowed money from the ECB , how will they repay???
A lot of Investors bought Bonds , how will they be repaid ?, they had to suffer a write off a couple of years ago. Then you have the IMF lending money , which La Garde got censured for. I think Britain is in a strong bargaining position if Cameron stopped posturing and explains that the Eastern Countries hell bent on coming to Britain should not be eligible for free passage because they are not European. Also, since Britain is the second largest contributor to the EU they want to see the Accounts for the EU before parting with a penny. For several years the EU Accounts could not be passed by the Auditors and Cameron has all the ammunition he needs to do a deal .

Iris , we know France agriculture benefits well from the EU, that Angela Merkel is after the IMF Job and when the initial crisis a few years ago concerning
Greece caused such panic, it was rumoured that Germany had printed Deutchemarks and Germany and Finland were considering setting up a Northern treaty with Sweden as well. It is a known fact that the Accounts for the EU could not be signed off by the Auditors for several years and If I was Cameron I would be asking for copies of them NOW.
