"Every parent has lost their child, even if it is only momentarily" - Gerry McCann
The Telegraph has an article entitled: "Gerry McCann says 'every parent has lost their child, even if it is momentarily'..." www.telegraph.co.uk I would remind him he also lost his blue bag.

Definition off 'lost'
.....no longer in your possession or control; unable to be found or recovered
You don't lose your child momentarily...I haven't ...strange word to use.
I would off used 'out off sight'..

The word "lost" is more appropriate to mislaid property in my opinion.

It is a very rare occurrence to "lose" a child from it´s bed, mostly someone is in the house just in case a child gets out of bed, or gets into difficulties.

It's just a quirky British custom and "we all do it".

mccanns have gone from 'we all leave our kids alone' to 'we all lose our kids'
Why they get media & press in UK? It's ludicrous.

Every parent?
EVERY parent?
Really? Done a survey then, have we?
Is this one of those blanket assumptions, such as 'everyone has a mobile phone these days' ?
Or is it (IMO) more likely that he's attempting to place himself and the missus within the mainstream of normal parenting?
Pfft - good luck with that one ......

A can understand that a missing child alert system might work if the child is reported missing instantly that it happens i.e. if your child is missing in a supermarket, press the app because chances are your child is still inside the supermarket. But if your child is missing for half an hour or more before you realise, which is what the McCanns are saying, the chances of recovery of the child are more flawed.

How can he presume to speak for every parent!
Fact is every parent hasn't lost their child even momentarily.

Some parents it seems have lost their sense of responsibility for their young children... Even if only for a few nights....
