in spite of what some may think this is the correct decision. had it gone the other way there's no telling how far things could go.

I think you are right but since it was a Local Authority who applied, it seems the child is in care and maybe any compensation might have helped trea the Boy. It's a sad case and I hope the Mother has been sterilised !!!
